I have had a bamboo steamer for quite some time now and have really only used it to steam veggies...does anyone know of steamer recipes....primarily if it is ok to steam chicken breasts in it?

I guess nobody is into steaming.....that's o.k.,.....guess i'll just go home, seal the windows and turn on the gas. Just kidding, i'm gonna go home and steam some stuff!

Hmmmmmmmm, I've never steamed chix breasts..... I guess you could..... I have steamed dumplings before tho.......Try it -- might work better if you cut the chicken into chunks & marinate them for a while beforehand.....

Dumplings huh, i'll have to try them....I asked the best base of knowledge EVER.....my grandma....she says it's o.k. as long as you can tell a raw peice from a cooked peice (duh)....she told me a couple of ways to do it so I will try and if it works I will post....cuz if it's good enough for granny it's good enough for me.

Thanx Jen

Yup, you can tell if it's cooked or not by it's "firmness." After cooking for a while, you can get a feel whether or not meats are done by how "firm" they are......

Definitely I would say to marinade the chix -- otherwise I'd think it'd be too plain...
