I need some direction/pointers on diet training while pregnant

I dont need any lectures about not cutting cals while pregnant...I got that already and wouldnt :)

more along the lines of macro ratios ...ie, is a very high protien diet still kosher, especially when easy cheap protien like chicken is absolutely revolting
anyone have any good research on this?

anyone stay serious about weight lifting while pregnant??

I have confirmed with my dr that outdated HR info is in fact...wrong...and as long as Im not at max HR for any length of time I'm good

Im nowhere near showing yet...spreading a tad..but not showing

I'd like to stay in decent shape this time around because I didn't with my last pregnancy and Im over thirty...i don't want to start from scratch

Congrats on the baby! That's awesome!

It's been quite a few years for me since I was pregnant but here's my thoughts....I think it would be fine to just keep eating healthy and I wouldn't think keeping protein at even 40% would be harmful. Although, I can sure appreciate the revolting chicken thing! lol

I would say listen to your body for exercise and as long as you feel ok, it should be ok. If you feel an extra strain, lowering weights a bit might be in order. I have one link I picked up from another forum to an article for exercise.

Good luck! I hope it goes well! :)

great article...thank you

the bit about energy levels changing constantly was very spot on

also, thanks for the congrats :)

Great reply and article Roxy!

For me with all 3 pregnancies I get serious morning sickness. To the point that I basically cannot really eat super healthy as most foods makes me really ill just looking at it. lol I try my best and take in 2 protein shakes a day and do the best that I can with whatever foods I can tolerate at that point.

In regards to training, I was told by my ob-gyn that I can basically do what I have been doing in the gym before I got pregnant except for a couple of things further on in my pregnancy due to balance (treadmill) when bigger and nothing laying flat on a bench and nothing reaching overhead like pulldowns. In my 2nd pregancy, I worked out till the day before I gave birth.

Good luck to you!

thanks island girl...that makes me feel a little better

and yeah...the morning sickness has been pretty horrible until curiously...today
I don't feel that bad

weirdly the only thing I can seem to handle is fruits and raw vegetables and a little cottage cheese

I don't have any input, as I don't have children, but I wanted to say that I am interested in everything here for the future.
Sorry to hear about the morning sickness Shirlene, hang in there :) Glad today isn't as bad.

thanx trex

I think I may be crossing the magic threshold for the morning sickness.....I don't wanna jinx myself but I was suddenly interested in hardboiled eggs this morning ...yey!

still want an orange tho and Im out...dammit

LOL..it's always funny what we crave!! I swear I ate more green olives in 9 months pregnancy then I have my whole life. Who knew they were so addicting. ;)

haha, yeah...lot of the things I want right now are things I ate a lot of as a teenager and really haven't given much thought to since (aside from cannolis..oh you lovely cannolis)...which reminds me...I have kiwis!!!
