So anyways a year ago I weighed about 250 pounds and now I weigh 180 pounds. I achieved this by lowering caloric intake, working out regularly, going climbing every weekend and generally staying active. Now here's the problem...

  • Excess Skin - I've been using cocoa butter and lotion religiously and nothing seems to help.
Now here's the question. Since I stopped working out as hard (Now I only do 150 push ups and 100 sit ups daily) should I increase my workout to bulk up to get rid of excess skin and should I incorporate supps or *added ingredients*?

Welcome to EF bro! Glad you are here. The only thing you can do for loose skin is add muscle where the fat used to be. This may only get you so far and depending on how much skin we are talking about may require surgical removal. However, check out our weight lifting and diet section of the forum. The above mentioned workout is not going to do alot for the physique by itself. Congrats on the weight loss bro and good luck in your quest.

agreed, damn near perfect answer. Welcome to EF man!!! The midsection is going to be your biggest problem I would imagine. Everywhere else should tighten up SOME with time

^^^^^^yes and yes. Also, give yourself a little time for ur body to adjust. Muscle will replace it but you'll have to work at it.

Yeah I would look into surgery if its that bad. Building muscle will help some but only so much because muscle is so dense.

250 to 180 is about what I did as well.

Gaining muscle is about your only option...

But EVENTUALLY, over 2-3 years, your skin mass will reduce somewhat. In my "non mass areas" (such as the stomach... You're not putting sheets of muscle on your abs) my skin reduced by about half.

And also, going from 250-180, you're probably still at 20-25% BF... Losing more of that WILL tighten you up as well. Put on some lean mass, then cut down again.

Thanks for all of the replies. I figured surgery or mass building would be the way to go. However, surgery just turns me off so screw it I guess I just need to grind harder.
