should I be worried about my weight?

since i hurt my back nearly 2 months ago I have gone from 49kg to 46kg. My osteopath tells me to lay-off the weights, and so Ive really been restricted to low-med intensity walking..
Is there anything I can do to prevent my bf% from rising during this recoverying period?

To get specific, you could figure out your maintenance calories and stay at that or below, or go slightly higher and do cardio on those days (e.g. carb rotation with cardio on the higher cal days)

Basically watch the cals in and the cals out. But also be sure to follow doc's orders so you can recover quickly and get back on track!

ive been to the pysio, chiro and osteopath...
the closests thing to an explaination is that my lower spine and pelvis were locked..so that the lower "ribs" or muscles in the lower back spasim.
the times it hurts the most is when i sit for too long (eg driving).

im sure im getting enogh cals..but its envitable that im gonna lose all my muscle isnt it??!:bawling:

How long are u restricted to just the low cardio? You certainly wont' lose "all your muscle" in a short period of time. Can you get some recommended workouts or exercises from any of the people you talked to about it and a schedule for starting each thing? I.e. doint' just dive into deadlifts - but can you do light weight workouts or anthing else in say 2 weeks or 4 weeks?

You need to get a lot better description that that. Is it secondary to nerve disruption, muscle firing disruption, etc?

If you had more information, there would probably be more things you could do.

If the physician is not answering your questions, insist. Remember, you are paying him.

I still don't understand how it happened. You were out running one day, and then suddenly you coudln't do anything? It's strange.

thats whats so bazzar! I think it has not had proper time time rest as im still constantly sitting and working....nonetheless...I was at such a strong point in my training, its heartbreaking to be so disabled

How about seeing a neurologist? Several years ago, I had terrible shooting pain in my arms and my fingers were numb. The chiro etc. had all sorts of theories but not until I saw a neurologist did it make sense (disc problems pinching the nerves.) She gave me great exercises, I didn't have surgery and didn't lose strength.

If you can afford it or have the coverage, it might be a good plan to check it out.
