Revolutionary!!!

I was watchin the today show this morning, and they were talking about revolutionary new diet and training programs, and i realized, revolutionary is just a code for people that want to write a book on crap theory. stretching is nice, but not a cure all. eating every 3 hours is great, but if you eat 1000 cals every 3 hours, you're not gonna lose weight. losing weight is cals in vs. cals out, just that simple. i think the word revolutionary should be avoided, while words like "scientifically proven" or "common sense" should be embraced...

by MuscleTech ads.

Perhaps a better strategy would just be to actually think about and research the science behind a given diet, training program, supplement, etc. instead of basing your evaluation on whether the proponents "embrace" good catchphrases.

"losing weight is cals in vs. cals out, just that simple." also in conjuction with your activity rate to find maintenance level. if it stay the same then doesnt matter but can adjust. ie doing lots of cardio

Bingo, no matter how "scientific" one gets or by what name it goes by, any diet that is successful does so in one way, it limits caloric intake in some manner.

Unfortunately, it's not that simple. For example, 1000 calories of pure table sugar vs. 1000 calories of lean steak, which one will be more effective? you do the deduction.

well Mr. X he did say "losing WEIGHT is that simple" Which I agree with, but when it comes to losing fat, you're right of course. If you want to lose fat with little muscle then of course you have to make smarter nutrition choices

this is a dieting forum, so 'lose fat' would be the most appropriate terminology...

Surely anyone who is on these boards and living the bodybuilding lifestyle understands the difference between sugar and steak.

You missed the point of the post.
