Question about carbs & cardio

One thing I never understood is this; let's say you're using an exercising bike and it reads you burned off 300 calories, is it the overall calories or is it just the calories in fat you're burning off?

I eat about 225 calories from fat per day and 1460 regular calories per day. Let's say I'm on a bike and my heart rate monitor reads I burn 300 calories, would it just be from fat or overall from all calories I eat?

The reason I'm asking is so I can figure out exactly how much cardio I need to do on a regular basis. I lost 15 pounds this summer by jogging 3 miles at 8 mph 5 times per week and in the past month I ALSO been on the elliptical at 2 miles with heart rate at over 130 on the machine five times per week after I jog. Seeing I'm happy where I am and no longer feel I need to do all of the extremely intense cardio to lose weight, I'm trying to figure out what I need to do to stay in place w/out gaining weight.
 
No, it is just total calories.

What percentage is from fat depends on a number of factors
- the intensity (the more intense, the more carbs are burnt).
- the duration (the greater the duration, the more fat)
- your fitness (the more fit, the more fat).

Given your heart rate is only 130, which is just light to light exercise, it's probably more than 50% fat.

If your not trying to lose weight, don't worry about the distinction between burning fat or carbs.

Also, why are you just eating 1460 calories.

The higher the intensity, the more calories are burned and although a higher proportion may be from carbs, more fat is burned as well. An additional benifit of high intensity training is that your body continues to burn calories long after you stop. If the intensity is high enough, the energy you burn after could be substantially higher that what is burned during the actual workout.
 
only 1460 calories? wow! You need at least another 400 cals a day in your diet, that is if your male.
