Post ckd carb up question...???

Hii,

started a ckd diet 15 days ago.... I went 12 days no carbs dropping 11 pounds (water), had a 8 hour carb up on the 13th day where I managed to get in around 500g carbs before falling asleep, was aiming for around 6-700 hundred...

the day after the carb up (yesterday) I was showing ketones on the strips and 4.5 pounds heavier than the depleated weight, but today I am not showing any...

I am aware that ketostix are a really poor way of judging ketosis. However I do have the funky breath and a dry mouth...

Again, I know the stix are poor and inaccurate but I can't help using them and thinking that they must be fairly good or surely they wouldn't be allowed to be sold...

So, if I keep using these and when my next carb up comes around (re-feed every Saturday) if the stix aren't showing or I have only been in ketosis for a short while should I still carb up or not?bare in mind, my diet will 100% be the same as the very first week where I lost the initial 11 pounds...??

Ketostix are a poor way of judging if you're in ketosis or not, stick to a ketonemeter. If you're under 30 carbs and your fats are high enough, you're in ketosis.

read the evolutionary diet and switch up what you're doing a bit:

Cheers for the reply mate, I've read the diet and it's a similar thing, but it requires more effort, it's easier for me to just stick to the ckd especially as I love the carb up, sure I'm addicted to porridge :-)

Ketostix full on suck tho, is it right that the more ur fat adapted the less they work?
