we do pub crawls in the french quarter, where we walk/stagger to various pubs/bars/coffee shops...but i have to admit most of my co-crawlers don't look as pretty as lestat's do.

here is the route we went.. look at the rides.. some incredible rides along the ocean and bay.

That chick is drinking water..
when you have a drinking even that runs from 4:30pm to 1:30am water is a must. we went through over 50 bottles of it. (but went through 90 beers, and we were only at my place for an hour).

I just realized how catty that might sound.......... but after more thought, eh fuck it.
not sure what that means, I can feel good about myself without comparing to others, doing that just makes it far eaiser.

I'm not talking about comparing - I'm just observing that some of your friends look older than you and older than me. So either they are older or just look old.

Tip to the Westcoasters............. sunscreen.
Not pale = Healthy looking
Leathery wrinkled sink < than being pale.

Sun + Wrinkles = not pretty.

You can never breath life into a missed comment of what you thought might be funny... ah well..

do they have racks outside or do you have to pick a pole?
yeah most places have racks out front, i live on the beach so there are plenty of bike riders.

if there are no racks you just use a tree, a pole/street sign or if you lock 3-4 bikes together they won't go anywhere, someone would have to come by in a truck to get the group. That won't happen unless you leave them overnight.

I'm 30, most of my friends are 35+. Roommate is 34, best friend is 36, some people 40. I don't mix well with the 20 somethings it seems, my life doesn't revolve around partying.

fuggin lestat

you seem to have charisma, i'll give u that

has velvett ever posted pics?

i also cant stand partying with young kids. they'e always out of money, get into fights with each other over the stupidest of shit, and know so little about everything so they'll talk about super mario for 2 hours and shit. even when i was 18, i hung out with people twice my age. they had way more stuff to talk about, and much more mature.

You can get a DUI on a bike. Next time walk.

Sounds like fun though.

yes, my life does not revolve around partying, you couldn't tell that?

How many pics do I post of me drunk off my ass?

How many times per month do you think I even drink (I'll give you a hint, you can count on one hand).

I meet so many women that are just about the party, the want to go out 3-4 nights per week, get shitfaced, hook up, and spend the next morning recovering.

I'm far too active for that. I play volleyball weekly, I run a couple times a week, I work out 3 days I week. Here is my social schedule for the next 4 weekends

weekend 1: snowboarding trip (3 nights)
weekend 2: snowboarding trip (2 nights)
weekend 3: hike the grand canyon (2 nights)
weekend 4: snowboarding trip (2 nights)

I like to blaze, because that is how I relax. On snowboarding trips when everyone gears up to go party, I stay home, smoke a bowl and watch a movie or play board games. Then the next morning I'm up at 7am and making first tracks on the mountain while the rest try to shake a hangover, get up there by 10am, and hit the bar by 2pm.

Again, most of my friends are mid to late 30s, specifically because people at that age are not all about the party anymore. In college I had a 2 year stint where I parties like a frat boy. My life was shit. My grades suffered, I didn't develop any real relationships, what was the point? That chapter is written and done.

I live in the beach, everyone loves to talk about how you can get a DUI on a bike, but I don't know ANYONE that has, not one single person. Doesn't mean it can't happen, but it means its rare. Look at the map again, most of the rides were along the beach or the bay, cops don't pull people over there.

50 drunk peeps peddling together...any carnage?
couple of crashes, one was me I was hauling ass on a tandem bike with my girl and we took a turn and lost our wheels on the sand. She took a bad scrap on the elbow but I was fine.

Another girl ran into a post box, pretty hard hit but she was so drunk she felt nothing.

Another guy and girl were fucking around on their own bikes, she cut him off and he went down and wasn't moving for about 5 minutes, almost called an ambulance for that one, he hit his head, but he was able to shake it off and was just a bit cloudy (and had ringing ears).

lol i know someone!!!! let me tell you how this law works.. (here in PA anyway) if you're driving on the street, they can pop you. if you're on a sidewalk you're safe. it's kind of a catch 22 in the system though. sidwalks only run from intersection to intersection, you're eventually going to have to cross a street,

lestat, why are you always partying? that shit is going to catch up with you, man.

seriously.
lol. yeah for real man, i better slow down!

Here is my good friend's write up about the night and pictures.

The Pub Peddle...Part ONE
I confess... I was dreading Brian's pub-peddle as much as bad sex. I just could not get over the fact that it was taking place in the dreaded, tool and tramp packed, youth-orientated Pacific Beach. But, unlike so many of you, I realized that this was NOT about ME and would put on a brave face to celebrate Brian’s birthday (yet again).

With Dave, Stavvy G., Professor Sacuzzo, Neno (soooo much more fun now that he has A) experienced his first heart-break and B) Mik's tragic descent into madness in less than one months time!), Mean-Richele and Shannon in tow. We gleefully drove to Pacific Beach and only spent ½ hour looking for parking. I was just about to start bitching when we arrived and discovered that Brian and Jarrod's EXCELLENT job of organizing, renting cute bikes and providing close (but not quite) top self liquor!
I wish each and every one of you kids could have shared the mirthful and magical experience of the first portion of the evening. As the sun set in Pacific Beach and we soared down the boardwalk; it took all my strength not to pull a Leo and scream “I’m the King of the World” (yup..baby was inebriated and feeling cheesy)

After a few more pubs (including a much-needed pit-stop for pizza) we rode back to Jarrod and Brians for additional spirits and socializing! I took this fun photo with chronic-smokin', ho- hopping, rump-shaking , Pacific Beach legend Brother Darkness!! I leaned in, to insure a memorable shot, and he warned, "don't get too close " (I'm not kidding). Shortly after this picture was taken, the evening began its slow but certain decent into chaos!

You simply must join me tomorrow! We'll have a cup of tea and discuss Shannon's embarrassing tumble (after a bout of "questionable" behavior), Mean-Richele's full-speed crash into a newspaper box and the hysteria that followed (we'll try not to mention the damage she caused the bike, forcing Brian to cough up $35 to the rental agency, but we'll ALSO try not to mention how he and outdoorsy and virile Jarrod could have prevented this by warning us to hydrate!), Dave's heroic survival from the onslaught of Professor Sacuzzo attempting to nag him to death AND dehydration, Stavvy G.'s attempts to to remain dignified through the proceedings, and my night-capping collapse!

This is us getting organized to go. This is my garage which opens to an alley that runs right to the beach (about 100 yards)

Just getting started, my buddy Stefano has his "to-go" cup from my place and already getting started on the festivities

Now that the time has changed, I will get to see this every night of the week. Love watching the sunset, tonight's was amazing. Saturday night's was good, here is a picture.

I'll post more pics as they come in, should be some good ones

Are you suggesting that "partying" is only "partying" if you're drunk off your ass?

And if so, why is this thread called "PARTY on Saturday".

Aside from that you are taking me waaay too seriously - I think it's very cool that you do a lot of spors related stuff and you are clearly a personable kind of guy.

I have to ask - why do you feel the need to share these pic here?
Or your social schedule?

Well, no harm meant - just observation.

don't mistake me wanting to give a little back to the boards for having a "need." This is an online community, its not all take take take. I like seeing what other people do, adventures, trips, vacations, home life, etc. I know I'm not alone. I know that my pics can frustrate people at times, we won't get into why, but I'll say I'm not intentionally trying to make anyone feel bad.

I got into more detail (social schedule, etc) because I felt like you had the wrong impression, which is easy to happen since you only see small snippets of my life through my posts.

I plan on having parties of sorts until I'm no longer alive, yet I don't think it will ever qualify me as a "partier."

And yes, I think the "party scene" or being labeled a "partier" does carry the connotation of being inebriated.

here I am picking up rental bikes, was able to get 6 bikes in my roommate's Honda Element

all of the bikes in my garage, that is my roommate in the picture (he owns the house)

Maybe you should call the "gatherings" or "get-togethers" because if you read what you just wrote it's a complete contradiction even though it's clear now that you don't mean it as such.

It's like drink vs. beverage - I drink a lot, a lot of beverage, beverage meaning non alcoholic (in my case water).

Anywhoo..

Enjoy the ride, moments of joy are priceless.

I honestly know someone who was pulled over for speeding on a 10 speed bicycle. I think the cops recognized the guy and wanted to screw with him. Ticketed for 41 in a 25 mph zone.....he was going down a huge hill.

Is the 1st girl your sister or relative....I wasn't gonna read the whole thread.
If not......wow. Look at chin, smile lines, cheeks.....

i don't have a proper feel for this weekend, lestat. more is required.

do you have any pics of yourself making phone calls, talking to the gang about when and where to meet up? communication is important, so i feel that's a useful detail. or a shot of you putting on your shoes? have to protect those feet, right? a night out w/o footwear just wouldn't be the same.

i just told my boss to get out, i'm waiting for updates. hurry.

We're arguing semantics.

My father had a rather large 50th birthday party, but I don't think anyone thought of him as a "partier" or a member of the "party scene" afterwards.

make sense?

I had a large party, get together, or gathering if you will (for my 30th birthday). I don't think it automatically lumps me into a "party scene" If anything the real drinkers/partiers who attended complained that the even was too "outdoorsy" for them.

You have to be patient with people that have a drinking problem. He is obviously still hung over, and moving very slow.
