OK who's bright idea was it to do 20 rep sets of squats??

I know I saw someone on here was doing 20 rep sets of squats and now I can't find the post, or the poster so I can sufficiently kick their ass.

I decided to give it a try last Friday. Lighter than normal weight, no big deal.

Breezed through the first 12 or so no problems.

At about 14 I was pausing a little at the top to take a breath or two and kick out another.

16 the spots started swirling around my head ~ pretty colors.

18 I could feel the bile rising in my throat. I swear I thought I was going to vomit.

I don't really know if I got all 20, I think I blacked out. The weight got racked somehow.

I finished the rest of my workout and things weren't so bad. Almost fell down the stairs to the locker room. I still don't know why they don't put in a twirly slide or a fire pole just for leg days.

Of course now the soreness has set in. This morning the stairs to my office were my Everest. I am all but stranded up here on the third floor until the soreness goes away.

Fortuantely that gives me time to find the bastard responsible for this.

I think I'm Guilty

I remember posting to a guy who had hurt his knees to do less weight and higher reps on squats so his knees wouldn't take a beating. I'm still not sure if I'm your culprit.........

Please send all Karma to Cornholio....

Yep. That was part of the three-day program that some of the fellas are on.

btw - going down the stairs is worse than going up them.

Hehehehe

Bastards!!

Going down the stair is why I am stranded up here on the third floor. I refuse to be one of the fatties that rides the elevator down three flights of stairs. Regardless of whether or not I have a Frankenstein like gait.

Or even worse.....sitting down on the toilet. Where the pain is so intense, you drop like the last 5 inches.......

This is exactly the kind of information I could have used 3 days ago, back when it sounded like a good idea.

It was really a rather humbling experience. I have never been one to work the legs really hard. I have always had big wheels anyway, this brought be back to reality a little. Wow.

Does it ever get better?

Well - you should add some iron to the bar each time you do them. So, no in that respect. Some of the soreness will go away though.
