Obligation to "Eat with the rest of the family"

Did anyone have this problem as a newbie?
or Is anyone-else having this problem as a newbie?

You used to eat when everyone else did because you didn't cook it, and didnt really care how it was cooked.
But you start lifting and try to establish regular eating patterns. you learn what, when and how much to eat and learn that 6 smaller balanced meals are better than 3 regular meals. Basically you learn how to eat RIGHT.

My family doesnt eat junk food, but still has food that don't want at times i don't want.

What did everyone else do when they started? Try and eat what everyone else is having as healthily as possible. Or take full responsibility for making your own food so you can have it when and where you want?

No doubt there were plenty of moms out there who still wanted to do your cooking for you

Eat what you can from the table. It's important for families to have meals together. You have six feeding times, why not spend one with your fam when they eat? Surely you can fine some things your mum cooks to eat. If not, sort of make your own meal and eat it with them. Or some of both.

I agree. eating with the family is important. just time your meals so that you can have yours (what you want to eat) with them.

Yeah, I have a hard time with this once in a while, too. I try to just work my cheat day or meal around when I will be home and with the fam so that I can eat whatever they are cooking. But, if I know that something else is going on that I would like to use my cheat day/meal on, then I will just bring my food along and eat with them, just not the same food. It's hard...I still end up giving in on their food once in a while, but oh well...what can ya do??

Just one question... have you mentioned any of this to your mother yet?

yea she says it okay with me doinh my own cooking cos she works late most weeknights. just kinda awkard on sundays and mondays cos we always seem to eat an hour later than i normally have dinner, so it kinda throws things out of wack. i guess ill just make sunday dinners my cheat meal......man, this eating right thing shouldnt be so annoying lol

just do the best you can and that's all you can do

If you are only off on 2 meals per week believe me you're doing better than most people, even on this site.

Eat whatever protein & veggies are offered & avoid the bread/mashed potatoes, etc or make an additional side dish yourself. Otherwise, just enjoy the food & the company!!
