kb- you're using my receipe? i'm so proud!!!
it really is good... but i couldn't do it w/o my aunties all natural maple syrup... yummmy.. (and its not that junky pancake syrup.... no sugar added...100% tree tapped all natural goodness... yummmy... I have 100 oz of heaven sitting in my fridge :D)

i use about 8 egg white (one carton if you can get it like that) and just under a half cup of dry, slow cooking oats... (add a teaspoon of all natural maple syrup if you can get your hands on the stuff :) not mine though!!! hehe)

cook until fluffy... yummm... very good... quick healty breakfast
 
"100% tree tapped all natural goodness..." Reminds me of an Ovaltine commercial or something...I don't even like maple but Phem makes it sound good....

I've concocted a recipe for muffins using quick oats, oat bran, nat. PB instead of oil and some nat. honey instead of refined sugar...they're fairly decent for those cravings for some rich food but they're okay as a treat on a typical maintenance diet. If you're interested I'll dig up the recipe. Other than that, I usually eat it plain or with some cinnamon and chopped apple in it.
 
why does everyone eat oatmeal??? i like it, but it is so high in carbs!! i lift, do cardio, teach aerobics, and my goal is to get leaner, lower body fat of course and increase muscle!!! i am 31female, 5' 5" about 155lbs around 26%bf...i try to eat as little carbs as posssible...could that be one of my problems?? nto eating enough...i sit behind a desk all day and cant work out until afterwards, so i hate eating in the am....it is all i can do to force down a protein shake...should i just eat the oatmeal mixing in the shake?? but then thats more calories!!! ugh!! i am so afraid of calories and carbs!
 
not at all...diet is where i need the most help..in understanding why...everyone says you need to eat, eat ,eat...i know how to lose weight...about 4 years ago i lost 110 lbs watching only fat grams...that is why i am afraid of eating so many calories...i gain weight easily if i overeat-that i know...and yes, i am that active..i wish i could work out in the am, but i am unable to..losing all that weight is what got me into the gym and led me to teaching and lifting...my workout schedule is: Mon and Wed 1 hr 1/2 cardio only..T, Th, F lifting(approx 30-45 minutes) and cardio 30 minutes....i have a hard time understanding and believing why more is better...

nah, i weigh 117lbs... 14%(ish) bf (probably lower)... take in about 2500 cal a day... not even sure on the carbs, but i'm not afraid of them, that's for sure...

basically look at it like this, muscle is very expensive metabolistically speaking... it costs a lot of calories for the body to maintain muscle... while fat just sits there happily watching soap operas on the couch, muscle is out there doing a metabolistic marathon...

well, if you aren't eating enough calories (and carbs, they are your body, not to mention your brain's biggest source of energy), to sustain your energy level (i.e. workouts) then you will loose the muscle... the fat on the other hand hangs on for the long ride.... now if your body is adaquately fueled with the calories that it needs, it won't use the muscle for its energy, it will use the food, allowing your workouts to do what they're supposed to be doing, helping your muscles grow and your fat shrink, rather than the other way around...

it's not quite that easy, but that's the gist of it... that's why anorexic ladies usually have bf's that are extreamely high... their body is using their muscles for food since they can't get enough from the diet...
 
Yes I did...and that seems like alot. When I lost 110 lbs it took me about 16 months to accomplish and had basically no knowledge, just that I had became obese and needed to shed it. I agree with you about how most aerobic instructors look...the "skinny fat" look....we have those at my gym. I do not, look skinny....I don't want to be skinny. I don't think my body could ever be skinny. If you were to look at me with the naked eye, I look like I have a muscular build with great potential....that's what everyone tells me. I am not complimenting myself at all, don't get me wrong. I feel like I look like crap, although I am my worst critic. I know my bf is high and I feel like as much as I bust my ass..I don't get much farther along. I cannot workout in the am...I am a single mom who doesn't live close to her gym and has to get herself and child up and off to school/work. After work is when I hit the gym and on the weekends I try to do any cardio I do in the am. If I don't eat during the day, I don't really feel hungry throughout. But once I put an ounce of food in me, I feel hungry all day....anticipating till I eat next. Then I feel like a fat hog by the time I get to the gym because I keep going over and over in my mind all the stuff I ate all day...which isnt bad...today I had a protein shake, tuna, brocolli, protein bar, pretzels, another protein shake and I leave for the gym in an hour and I am sitting here thinking..."Oh my god..look at what I have put in my mouth today..."My most difficult time of eating bad is at night. I don't eat dinner till 8 or so...we never get home till shortly before that. I do eat fairly well dinners....chicken, brown rice, brocolli, cauliflower, shrimp...I have the protein shakes, bars, etc...I seem to be ravenous between 10pm-5am ALWAYS...craving CARBS CARBS CARBS!!!!!!! Currently I am taking Hyroxycut...I have taken other things...clen. T3...they worked well. I am hoping to start another cycle of clen in a week or 2. Am I hopeless?? Are all the old words that less is best so engrained in my mind?? Am I just plain crazy?? Am I not allowing myself enough time to see results of eating 6 meals a day? By the 3rd or 4th day of doing that I start to feel and look like a total fat hog!
 
Oh my goodness...I am sooooo uneducated. I normally am in a rush....so I hardly ever eat before I leave the house..Here is today..Before I start I am taking Hydroxycut simply because I heard it was an excellent fat burner. I always drink at least 1 gallon of water a day...ALWAYS. Woke at 7:15, 4 hydroxycut at 7:30am, protein shake at 10am, tuna, brocolli, fat free cheese, 12pm, handful pretzels 2pm, 4 hydroxicut, protein bar 3pm...on to the gym...I will do back and bi's today 3/4 different exercises each 4 reps of each exercise starting at 12 reps lightest weight..increasing weight..lowering reps..then 30 minutes cardio..back home..tonight for dinner I will eat around 8pm..probably 2 chicken breast, 1/2 c brown rice, 2 cups brocolli, 2 cups cauliflower...I always crave a huge dinner...then around 10pm on I am dying for carbs. Basically I follow the same diet daily....my workout schedule is this....Mon and Wed I do 15min stairmaster, teach 1 hr class, 15 min stairmaster afterwards then home...Tue, Th, Fri...I lift back/bi...chest/tri.shou....legs....around 35-45minutes each day, then 30 minutes cardio after....Please fix me!!! Thanks gals.....off to the gym...I am awaiting your replies when I return to work in the morning, Go ahead...I can take it!!
