new pr on atf squats

after my revised routine, I switched over to atf squats instead of going parallel. today I did 3 sets of 225 for 4 reps. I knew I could have done more, but I had done a good number of sets already and was satisfied with that. I was squatting 315 parallel about 9 months ago...

when I normally squatted, I squat in the power rack in front of a mirror. recently I have been looking straight up and ignoring the mirror and concentrating on my form by feel. also, I have been holding my breath in and keeping my torso tight on the way up and exhaling at the top.

with that said, I do have to thank B Fold for posting his sunday workouts, as I have picked the little things that he has posted to help me out.
 
Congrats on the PR!

I always look up. I figure I should keep my eye on where I want to go...back up! Using your air is a great technique for keeping the core tight. Glad those two technique changes have made a big difference for you.

I squat in from of a mirror, but don't look at myself. If I do I dont' think I would get back up! Seriously....I'm sure that your numbers will take off now that you quit trying worry about where parallel is.
 
nice job bro... i got 265x1 the other day, atf style (the only way i've ever done 'em) and came real close to having to dump the weight behind me... i guess if it didn't kill me... well, you know...

hell your almost using as much weight as I am! The highest weight I'ved used so far is 230 for 2 sets of 5 :o
Although I maybe stronger now - we will see in 2 weeks time when I start to go heavy again :)
