If you cannot agree that they are receiving unjustified handouts that are being plundered from hard-working, tax paying Americans, then I don't think there's a point to our continuing this discussion (since I certainly won't agree to the contrary ). When Apr. 15th rolls around just keep in mind that a portion of that money is going to some Native American who didn't pay taxes himself as opposed to you/your children/wife/parents/siblings/etc... who do you think is more entitled to it?

This is about ONE NATION's agreement with ANOTHER NATION. It's no different than your US of A giving $4 billion to Turkey, like they just did this week. I don't see you bitching about that.

lol - because no thread was created for it that I could see. I disapprove of any type of foreign aid simply because a portion of that aid came from my pocket and nobody asked me if I wanted it to go to Turkey or Israel or anybody else.

I only read the first few post and decided not to read the rest. I'm born and raised in Oklahoma aka Indian Territory and attend the University of Oklahoma where I have taken two "Indian" classes; Indian Peoples of Oklahoma and American Indian Injustice.

The class was taught by Dr. Robert Fields...100% "Indian". I learned more in those two classes than I have in 90% of the other university classes I have taken.

I'm not an Indian and had many of the same stereotypes as the rest of you, most of them I no longer have.

First, the government doesn't give anybody anything for free.
Second, Indians DO PAY TAXES just like you and me. Check their pay stubs if you don't believe so.
Third, you can find overweight and alcoholic people in any race.

That's all the arguments I read until I stopped. I could go on and on, but I have a feeling my words are meaningless to most of you, so I won't waste my time.

Land is a finite source, it is limited. More land can not be created. Native Americans were robbed of their land. They were made a bunch of promises that never happened. One of them was that they were told that they would get their own state and they could govern it the way they liked. They were never compensated correctly for their loss of land and such.

The way they were dealt with in the past has a huge significance on them including how the land is treated and governed which basically they have no say because it was taken from them. There population is under 2 million through out the whole country, so don't tell me if they all got together and voted for change then it would happen. How is land acquired or claimed? Usually you get it passed down to you, or you go out and conquer some or claim some land that nobody else has claimed and established as theirs. Regardless of wheither you took this land, you still are on land that truely belongs to the native americans. You reap the benefits of somebody else's land therefore you pay the landlord.

Lol... you have told me NOTHING I don't already know. I went through all of this shit in my early American history course last semester where the teacher continued to talk about the butchery and plunder of the Native Americans perpetrated by the Europeans. The only thing she COULDN'T tell me is why those acts justify the handouts given to the people who never experienced them by the people who never perpetrated them. You still haven't told me that either.

By your logic the great grand daughter of the girl your great grand father cheated on in the 10th grade has the right to seek vengeance on you for his crimes. That's right... someone who was not alive at the same time as the perpetrator is responsible for the crimes committed against someone who was not alive at the same time as the victim.

Please justify your arguments logically. Yes, the Europeans stole their land, etc... but you have still not told me why that means that WE should pay for THEIR crimes.

Why don't you run to the State Department and start protesting the billions of dollars in aid, grants, no-interest loans, military equipment and handouts to those countries as well?

Because it is just as futile as doing so in response to Native American, black, and other minority handouts.

You know what? Fuck Israel. Fuck Saudi Arabia. Fuck Turkey. I'm not Israeli, Saudi Arabian, or Turkish. I have not asked them to do anything that they may or may not have done that directly benefits me. They are entitled to NOTHING from me except my charity. Why does compensation for crimes we did not commit have to come in the form of money? Why not just designate a portion of the USA to a tribe so that they can run around hunting animals and wearing no clothing like savages (this is what they were doing before the Europeans came... don't you dare try to deny it... or even suggest that it may be any different today if the Euros never showed up) instead of taking my hard-earned money out of my pocket and giving it to someone who doesn't deserve it?

As I said before, EQUAL RIGHTS to all, but with EQUAL RESPONSIBILITIES.

Let's all go to china and take over. Let's slowly take their land and live off of it and give them a whole bunch of empty promises and wait 125 years or so and then basically tell them assimilate into our culture or get lost and you can't have any of our tax money because you weren't alive when the land that was supposed to be passed down eventually to your generation was taken away, instead it's ours because we robbed it from your ancestors and not you so get lost.
