yea right... Native Americans are to Blacks as Blacks are to Whites in terms of handouts. At least blacks pay taxes. Fucking A man... nowadays it seems like the only people pushing for equality (us) are the ones that the opposition (them) claims are racist/bigotted/etc.

So... because a white man says that a Native American should have to pay taxes, he is racist? Isn't everybody "the same" as the liberal left claims we are? So, if we are "the same," then we should all pay the same taxes, right?

Unless of course we are "better" because we can pay taxes and someone else is not able to. (They said it - not me).

Native Americans are better than we are since their great great great great great great great great great great great great grandparents were born in the country in which we live.

Also, their great great great great great great great great great great great great grandparents were butchered by people my great great great great great great great great great great great great grandparents were not affiliated with in any way, which is why I must pay taxes and they must not.

Several of my friends are Indians. Hell I live pretty close to the reservation. Here's what they've said.


The CHEIF gets all the freebies. He gets the free housing, new cats, $$$, ect. NOT the people. They barely get anything. Haven't you ever noticed, on Reservations, everyone looks to be living in poverty, yet the Cheif has a nice big house, new cars, ect?

One of which I worked with, even stated that their parents put alcohol in baby bottles(a passed down tradition he says) and gives their kids alcohol. I aint making excuses for them, but it seems like they usually have it rough.

If they had it as easy as people think, we wouldn't see so many out working jobs and shit.

I'm sure it depends on what tribe your from and if and how many casinos they have.
I used to work at a Cadillac dealer in high school. I remember a couple of times, going with a salesman to the reservation to deliver cars. That way they didn't have to pay taxes. This whole neighborhood was surrounded by dirt. No grass. There were old broken down cars in the middle of empty lots. Then you get to the neighborhood, and there's nice cars everywhere. The people we delivered to had just built their house. Probably around a 1/4 million dollar house. The neighbor kid was getting into his Mercedes as we pulled up. The guy we delivered to wrote a check for a $40k+ new Cadillac. I highly doubt that that entire neighborhood were all cheifs.

This is one of the only casino's within an hour drive of Minneapolis too. I know when I used to go there(5+ years ago) the place was always packed. These guys were well off I'd say.

Half Cuban/Half Lebanese. My parents saw tougher times than the typical whiner welfare mom and made it due to acting as opposed to complaining about how so-and-so was holding them down.

Having the same attitude myself, coupled with the fact that no one is holding me down, will hopefully lead to a very pleasant life filled with much golfing after an early retirement age.

ok, I'm not racist at all, but I do tend to stereotype a bit.

I live near some very large reservations, so there are indians everywhere in my city.

it absolutely blows my mind how fat most of them are. I mean, it's not even funny how fat they are and I don't even want to know the percent of the reservation is 50lbs or more over weight.

The reservations are all pretty scummy and not very safe to drive through.

for the amount of money they get from the government, you'd think they would all be quite well off.

most of them all have either mustangs or pimped out japanese cars or big pickup trucks.

at the same time though, they live in nasty trailors or boxes.

They wear all 'hippest' clothes, normally following the hispanic fads in clothing around here.

considering the amount of native americans that live here, it seems like there are none that go to college here.

anytime I go to a pub or club, there are always fat nasty girls that are getting kicked out or asked to leave while their drunken big chief boyfriends are passed out on the floor.

they're always picking fights, and never know when to stop drinking. they all work in fast food or gass stations, and I can only wonder if most have finished highschool.

Would someone care to enlighten me as to some positive aspects of their current social stance so I will quit looking down on them?

They've been socially and culturally raped, that's why. Tell me how you would feel if someone stole your land and water rights (given legally via treaties), if someone gave you diseased blankets (Americans using bioterrorism), and killed off your women and children (thru genocide and warfare).

Like supernav posted, educate yourself first then maybe you'd understand.

I am almost certain that there have been studies done that show that Native Americans process carbs differently which is why they are prone to alcoholism. I also live close to one of if not the poorest reservation in the country and believe it to be the unsolvable problem. What started out as rampant alcoholism has produced a generation of alcoholics with fetal alcohol syndrome who are producing the next generation of of mentally and physically handicapped alcoholics. If ever there were a good case for involuntary sterilization IMO this is it. HIV has reached the reservation and at the rate it is going they will self exterminate but only after they use up millions of tax dollars on treatment. The ones that will be left are some of the finest people you could meet.

to be serious, i took a native american history class and we had about 60+ students in the class. most of us realized that the situation is really ugly and there is no clear cut answer because there are many things to be considered and to be taken into account.
