My Best Leg Workout

That's so funny you say that.....I feel that way about Lunges -- I HATE LUNGES!! I won't do them...... Love squats, presses, etc.....
 
Generally I **** LOVE***** leg days. Always have. I like squats, but I can't say they've been a huge base for my leg days.

For the masochists in the group, here's a leg day schedule I was given by one trainer while trying to do some serious bodyfat loss about 8 weeks prior to a regional show a few yrs ago:

Day 1:
20 min bike warm up
Legs:
Super set: 5 min step mill / leg extension x 25 / leg curl x 25 / leg press x 30
(repeat 3 times)
Still leg dead lifts: 3 x 25
Chest:
Pec deck warmup
Super set: DB or BB incline press x 20 / DB flat bench fly x 20
(repeat 3x)
seated Hammer Strength Press - drop sets x 3
cable cross over: 3-20

Day 2:
Back + abs

Day 3:
20 min bike warm up
Legs:
Super set: 5 min stair master / leg ext x 25 / sissy squat x 40 / flat bench lunges (step ups) x 25
(repeat 3x)

Super set: 5 min stairmaster / seated leg curl x 25, 1-leg x 10 / hyper extension x 25
(repeat 3x)

Calves:
Seated calf press 3x30
Standing calf press: 3x30

Day 4:
Shoulders + rear delts + abs

Day 5:
20 min bike warmup
Legs:
Super set: 5 min step mill / leg ext x 25 / leg press x 25, 1 leg x 10
(repeat 3 times)

Super set: seated leg curl: 25 + 1 leg x 10 / DB stiff leg dead lift x 25
(Repeat 2x)

cable kick backs 2-3 x 25

Hyper extension - lower back: 3 x 25.

Well you get the picture. I basically started to seriously hate going to the gym. Obviously the volume and speed is focused on a high rep cardio workout to drop bodyfat.

true. but Im sorta old school & stick w/squats, SLDLs, weighted lunges (not walking), leg press.... etc. Plyos,walking lunges & step-ups are more aerobic workouts than anerobic- so I wouldnt put them on leg day anyway.

Lunges are weighted I do mine with 135 for sets of 10 stepe per leg

seriously, you couldnt do "walking lunges' in my gym holding that bar w/45 plates or yould kill someone! LOL.
 
Yesterday, I was at the leg press, which is beside the squat rack. This tiny little chick in a skimpy outfit was standing by it. There was a bar loaded with like 2 plates a side. She was sipping some water and looking at the bar. This dude with a mullet and gold chain comes by, he asks her if she needs help getting those plates off. She says "no" and looks at at him...then proceeds to get under the bar and do a set of 10 reps!!!!!! I loved it!!!! I worked my legs off just to make this little girl proud!
