My Arms, Kind of Shy...Sorry

ManOSteel

New member
Hello,

Here is a picture of my arms this past week. I am 40 years old and have been preparing for my first natural contest. Still trying to get over the "shy" stage to compete...Any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks

Cute kitty!

Congrats on going after that first comp -- nuthin like that first trip out on stage! I was shy as shit too -- pick posing music that you like - that will help bring your personality out. The other thing to remember is that you've busted your ass to get on that stage -- NOW SHOW THE PEOPLE WHAT CHA GOT! It was also recommended to me to slam some red wine before going on stage - its a mild diuretic and will help with vascularity a little. It also helps loosen you up a little. The things to remember are to smile a lot and look like you are having fun. Its kinda like golf --- the less you care, the better you play. Relax and have fun. I HIGHLY recommend spending LOTS of time practiciing your posing and posing routine. Its excellent conditioning and you want to know your moves so you dont' get lost on stage. The posing is just like when you do it in the mirror (LOL!) except this time you WANT to show off your shit! And hot damn ManOSteel -- you need to show those young punks what you're packing!

You got some nice size tris -- show some more and list your stats. What do you want to compete at and when is your comp?

You look great! Trust me if you are confident with how you look and know that you worked hard then shyness will not and should not be a factor. My first time competing I thought I was going to be really nervous but I really wasn't at all because I knew that I looked good. Good luck with your comp.

Sassy69 and Legs,

First, I want to thank you for welcoming me to this board. Thanks for sharing your "virgin" competition experience with me and hopefully I can do the same for someone else some day. You have encouraged me further to "Just Do It"!

I train with a bunch of guys and gals who compete both locally and nationally and they have been so supportive also. That is what is so great about the BB community everyone is very positive and encourages each other so freely.

I went to Frank Zane's seminar earlier this year and he reminded me that he competed in Mr. Olympia at the age of 41. Check out the cover of his web page http://www.frankzane.com to see what I mean. Now I know Olympia is not possible, but anything else is.

I will post more pics when I get them developed. I am glad you liked my Kitty face :)
