i need some ME moves for the bottom of the bench...i'm hitting lats really hard and working on bar speed to help but i want some Me moves. I just realized that most ME moves work more of the top and are more tricep\lockout oriented because people bench in shirts at meets. My lockout strength is VERY good...but the bottom part of my bench is holding me back ALOT.

thanks in advance for any help

not sure if it works the bottom portion, but maybe reverse band presses? maybe some illegal-wides for reps, im not sure. just some ideas

fuck this was supposed to be in PLing forum i dunno why i posted here sorry

reverse bandpresses wouldn't be good i don't think...because they eliminate the bottom of the lift somewhat...don't they? its more of a lock out thing no?

as far as i know, reverse band is for lats mainly

Make sure you aren't confusing the term "reverse band". When you suspend the bar from the top of the rack with bands...and PULL the bar down to your sternum to work your lats...that is one exercise.

The reverse band PRESS...is where the bands help you get the bar started. They reduce the help they give as you press....works the lockout.

As far as the question of this post. Some of the best ME exercises for the bottom of the press are Floor Presses, Illegal Wides, and High Rep Dumbell Presses on the stability ball.

i had only thought of illegally wides, which is probably what i'll go to next since thats where im lacking, the "hole".

I'm not a p'lifter but when I notice that my bottom motion is weak i work on pauses.. basically i take a weight I can do for about 8-10 reps and lower it to my chest and rest it there for about 2 sec and explode out of the hole, you dojn't need to lock out but just work on the bottom part, always has helped me, This might not be what you are looking for but I thought I would try to help...
