Matsoni's interesting macros

I found in a local armenian shop a dairy productcalled Matsoni – it is a yogurt like product, and it has a veryinteresting macro's ratio – fat/carbs/protein all the same. Do youthink it could be an interesting addition to one's diet, especiallywith all the probiotics it will have?

That is good that it does not have too much fat compared to the protein and carbs in it, but you should not have it as a main part of your diet. It is good from time to time to improve stomach health and digestion, but not as a thing that you would eat everyday in large quantities. Perhaps half a glass, or maybe a glass of matsoni will be fine - enough to get the health benefits, and not enough to hurt your diet.

It is tough to answer because it really comes down to just staying within your total calories and macros. If it fits in your macro needs then go for it. Personally I stay away from dairy except a whey protein.

Thanks guys for the opinions. Masonic, if it fits my macros in regards to fats and things like that - safe to eat? Or it has the same problems as milk with lactose? Supposed to be good because of these good bacteria that it has in it...

I don't think it is unsafe but dairy is an inflammatory food. That is why I avoid it as much as possible. If you want to go with yogurt then stick to full fat Greek yogurt.

All humans are lactose intolerant it just depends on to what degree you are effected by it.

You can also take a probiotic separately if you are looking for good bacteria. Just make sure you buy it refrigerated.
