low carb doesnt feel enough

Hey guys

I recently signed up with sixpacknow.com to get a personalized diet plan and they basically said 150g carbs on low days and 175 g on high days, and every 4th day you have the high day. SO its carb cycling.

But i dont feel energised enough after only 150 grams, i do thai kickboxing and a lot of HIIT on treadmill, as well as weight training, so i feel i should eat more carbs? But i said this to them at the beginning and those were the numbers they gave me.

Im 20, 5,10ft, weigh about 180lbs. Protein is ok, im aiming for 120-150 grams per day , but the carbs on low days really dont feel enough, and on high days i dont rele feel like im loading up or anything.

how should i modify the diet?

you should be taking in about 200-250 grams of protein, carbs need to increase. If you want to carb cycle, then like 50grams on low days and 300-500 on high days. or just keep them around 200-250, esp if you are doing a lot of aerobic exercise. anything on fats? how much are you taking in?

im not sure how much fat i take, i eat mostly chicken and tuna for protein, sometimes salmon. egg whites for breakfast regularly.

not really sure about fat content, ill try upping the carbs on the carb up days, ill start with 200 and see how i feel, 50 on low days is low though, because i do cardio every day pretty much, treadmill 2-3 p/w but on the other days 1-2 hours of kikboxing

sounds like your fat is very low.. start getting in efa's , fish oil, omega's, olive oil, whole eggs, cottage cheese, fish, you want to prob be around 60-70 grams ed.

The CKD diet is made that way, low carbs and then a high carb up for optimal fat loss during this training, ya its a PITA from the logs I have seen! lol

Your fat intake is key here. You don't need a lot of carbs for energy. Your body burns fat mostly for energy and carbs are saved for very intense short burst OR when you are going super long. It takes 21-23 miles of running to completely exhaust your glycogen stores. During that time your body is using fat for energy too. 30 minutes or HIIT, lifting, kickboxing, MMA, whatever just doesn't use all that many carbs. 150-175 g per day is plenty...IF you get enough fat. Your body will become more efficient at burning both carbs and fat for energy when after you adapt.

Try eating some Coconut Oil , between 2 - 3 TBPS a day , it's a MCFA ( Medium Chain Fatty Acids) Converted to energy very quickly... and not stored as fat
