Knee Issues

I squatted yesterday and felt some serious pain in my right knee, the sharp kind of pain, I didn't even get to do a single set of squats. The pain is particularly sharp deep in the squat not at the top of the movement.

After giving up on squats I did some leg extensions, Leg presses and Machine Hack squats all pain free, although I didn't hit the leg presses and HAcks as heavy as I usually do.

My question is this.... Should I continue to do my leg workouts without including squats until I feel no pain while squatting OR not do any leg workout at all until I can squat pain free?

Thanks for any advice..

First of all, wheres the pain exactly? On the jointline? Or is it muscle pain? If it's on the joint, then you might have a cartilage problem. Take a break for a while and see if it heals up. I once felt a little sharp pain in my right peck once. Felt like a pin prick. I ingnored it. Started to do my chest routine on the bench press. Benching 430lb. at the time, warming up with 185lb, lowered the bar down and tore my peck. Oops!
