ketosis and p/w carbs...

Depends on how much is used in the PWO shake and how much is comsumed throught the day. And as a recommendation to you, if you are going to be doing an atkins type diet where your body in in ketosis, i wouldnt do it for more than 2.5-3 weeks.

atkins?...not quite
CKD....

i know how to cycle my carb intake throughout the day and week, but i didn't know whether adding a high gi carb post workout would affect it

Alright i see now. I dont exactly know the answer but I would say yes it would affect it. Your body still breaks it down as glucose and would use that as the primary source of fuel until it is all used up. Then the ketosis would start again. Hopefully someone knows the asnwer for sure, but im a nursing major and learned about alot of this already. But to my knowledge, i would have to say it would have to affect it.

if you're in a CKD diet, adding like 10-15 g of dextrose pw will not affect ketosis so much that it could hinder your purposes, but if you add dextrose then you should adjust your overall carb intake/day and don't exceed ~30-40g carbs/day.

I think ti's about your daily total. So if you throw in 20g post-workout, you will need to be very careful about the rest of what you eat throughout the day since pretty much everythign has some small amount of carbs that can add up to 30-40g a day very easily.

I was quoting you cause you said it first and wanted to outline that he is getting the same advice from numerous people. Would you rather I not quote you and just answer? Didn't mean to be repeat I just happened to agree.
