Karma inflation... How to fix it???

I dont care, Hammy and Soklu are great peeps, nothing personal at all, Im thinking what's best for the board. I like that you can send messages to peeps but I also think that karma currency would be ALOT more fun especially if we can play poker.

I think this round of karma games should come to an end. Perk was the first winner.
Hammy was the second winner by a landslide.

Lets start everyone out at 100,000 karma and in a year's time give out a few ipods to whomever is in the lead at that time.

Increasing the PRICE of the items in the Karma store will only DECREASE the value of your Karma since you would only be able to BUY LESS ITEMS for your Karma....


If I have 30,000 points, @ the current prices my Karma is worth 3 bombs...

If we raise the price of the bombs say to 15,000 per bomb... Now My 30,000 karma is only worth 2 bombs...


By reading the above.... How do you figure increasing the prices of the Karma store would do "wonders"... All it does is let you buy less for your K... thus DECREASING the VALUE of Karma... But you think that is a good idea? ... mmmk


SO....

You are AGAINST the slowing of the rate at which NEW karma is generated AND the lowering of prices in the Karma store... Both of which would INCREASE the VALUE of your current Karma...

But you are FOR increasing the price in the Karma store and allowing the system to continue snow balling people's K power to create 2-3 month millionares both of which would DECREASE the value of your current Karma....



Sometimes I just wonder if people like foreigngirl have their own brain or just decide to disagree with us because they think it cool or something...

Foreigngirl's premise was based on some assumptions. The first one would be that current levels of karma store activity would remain constant.

With that assumption, if you raise the cost of the items there, MORE karma will be sucked OUT of the system. We all agreed that karma is being created daily at a rapid rate, but if we could balance that out by taking karma out of the system, inflation would slow. You could do this by:
1) raising the prices on karma store items
2) encouraging people to "spend" their karma on karma store items
3) finding other ways to get people to part with their karma, many have been discussed.

I have takled with Foreigngirl quite a bit and I can verify that not only does she have a brain, she's one of the more intelligent people here.

well I like the k restart thing to but like perk said make shore you let the people that paid for k like me I have paid about 150 dollers in k so I want 150 dollers wirth of k after the restart.
if it is a game like hammy said then lets face it he won game over lets start a new game.odds are hammy will just win again.

I still say revalue the currency, then tweak the algorithm. Since I don't know how the variables in the algorithm are weighted, I don't know best how to tweak it.

o and btw yes the booke forem dos bring more k into the sistom.
swole make and event and he gits a tone of people puting k on it.for a cuple of days before a big event his k power is well swole.and he can pass out big fat k hits to people for that piround of time.well some one may bet 500k here 1000k there it will not efect there k power at all because it was less then 2000k but if you add them all togather to one user like swole it makes more k power on him but no loss in k power for the better.uless he drops a huge bet.thus makeing more k in the sistom.

You could use subscriptions, e-books, t-shirts, ball caps, even the occasional Ipod as prizes. Also I'm sure some of the board sponsors could get in on that.
