Just say YES.....to Cardio!

I know a lot of you guys HATE cardio and think since your "on"
why do it. I have been fighting a cold the last week and a half and
I haven't done any cardio. I can't believe the difference it makes!!
What is the reason NOT to do cardio? Because you'll lose muscle? There's NO reason why you can't do at least 20 min 3 to
4 times a week. You will not loose muscle at that level. I attribute
Cardio and ALA together as one of the best way's I could have
leaned out. I think ALA is great on it's own, but throw in cardio
and you will be amazed!! In the last two weeks, I haven't taken
too much ALA and haven't done any cardio. The results....soft
around the middle! My endurance is for shit. Give me a reason
why 20 minutes of cardio 3x a week is not worth your while.

The only reason for not adding cardio during a cycle is if your a hard gainer. If you are a hard gainer you will need to consume as many calories as possible to get the most out of your cycle. Doing cardio, as you know, burns calories, therefore taking away the much needed food supply for your muscles. My lifting partner can eat anything he wants, as much as he wants, fast food, junk food, and still stay at around 8-9% BF, there is no need for him to do cardio, unless for endurance purposes.

If you are not a had gainer, like myself, then I agree with your statement. I do cardio 3x/wk for 20mins while bulking and bump it up to about 5-6x/wk for 30-40 mins when cutting, which Im just starting to slow down on now. If I dont do cardio during a bulking cycle I can easily go from 9%bf to 19%bf in a 3 month period, diet change has a lot to do with this of course also, but thats why its called a bulker.

does ALA's effects diminish that quickly...?i agree w/ cardio btw,i chose to do 6-7 sessions of 20 min's each...excellent way to stay lean and keep gaining STEADILY as well...

Cardio is good at that level. I don;t mind it but I have been trying to cut back lately to see what happens. Trying to keep muscle. I still do about 2 half-hour sessions a week and will up it again when back on in a couple weeks.

A form of cardio that has extra benefits is sprinting. Sprinting can help strengthen and define your hamstrings and works your other leg muscles as well.

The only thing I can say is while doing ALA, Cardio 3x a week at
20 minutes (no more) and NOTHING else, I couldn't believe how
much of a difference it produced then cardio alone. I better keep my mouth shut about ALA because then I will be accused of either
selling it or bullshitting;) The only other thing I use with morning
cardio is Yohimburn and (depending on how I feel) ECA.

I have a friend who is at about 8%-9% and does cardio EVERY
morning! So hardgainer or not, I don't think your risking muscle loss at 20 min 3x a week. He goes no longer then 20 min but he does it. I just can't believe what a week and a half of NO cardio can do to me. I have NO energy and very soft around the midsection. The scale says I didn't gain any weight, but I feel fatter. Diet hasn't changed, maybe not as much water and a few cheat meals.

I find that I don't need as much sleep when I do regular cardio, and that I have much more energy. If your a hard gainer, what is 20 minutes of cardio a day going to burn? Not that much.

I can do 1/2 more reps on a heavy weight during months I have been doing cardio, as it takes longer for me to get out of breath. Also, rests between sets are shorter as my breath returns to normal sooner.

centaur im not sure one half rep is worth all that runnin (lol i know what you mean)

does ALA work if you take it only in the morning with eca before cardio? I see most are taking it many times a day, but it´s really expencive here so I was wondering if it would help to take it in the am only? (sorry about the sp.)

Im not saying that a hard gainer is risking muscle loss by doing cardio, im saying that cardio is burning well needed calories for muscle gain.

I still think one will benefit (hardgainer or not) with at the very
least 20 min, 3x a week. ESPECIALLY while on!!

I have not done cardio in months.

Its a personal choice. You can burn calories by doing cardio or you can eat less. Both can create a caloric deficit.

I am actually getting pretty lean(5-6%) by just eating a clean diet and working out hardcore an hour+ 5 times a week.

Oh yeah...Fina helps too.. :D

You peopoe do realize that although high intensity cardio does burn calories it does nto directly burn fat. To burn fat a low to moderate intensity cardio workout for 20 plus minutes is what you need.

IronKop....high intensity cardio does burn a lower percentage of fat, but like you said it does burn more calories...so when you look at the percentage of fat...it seems as if not much was burned, but when look at it from the perspective in terms of how much fat all together was burned.....you burn slightly more fat from high intensity cardio....part of this is because of an increase in E.P.O.C. (excessive post exercise oxygen consumption)....I remember cuz I took ex.phys. last semester

Peace!
