Im curious, anyone of you HST fans either split the workout in half and workout 2x daily or as stated in the HST faq try and optimize it by doing the workout 2x a day? If so have you found overtraining to be an issue?
I have. I did the full body version, basically one workset per exercise, twice a day.
I never felt overtrained or exhibited any symptoms, and that was at a pretty significant caloric defecit. I was very happy with the mass I was able to retain.
When you say you were happy with the mass you were able to retain, are you referring to after using that HST approach or from the fact you were really trying to cut up and consuming low carbs yet still retained mass/strength and lost fat?
I sit on my ass in front of a computer all day, so I have to bring cals down pretty low to keep fat loss moving. I was happy that I could still hit all my previous max weights.
Time constraints have prevented me from trying it while bulking.
