how many calories per meal is TOO MANY...

what would say is the limit for calories per meal...?

I have a few that are about 650 calories, and will have to add to them, if i plan on getting to my caloric intake goal...

eating every 2.5 - 3 hours makes it tough to cram all those calories in...

i figured my RMR + AF + TEF = about 4400 calories... divided by 6 meals would be 733 calories per meal...

:worried:

from personal experience those calculators are all wrong for me. i would suggest upping the calories like you want to and monitor your progress. if your bf starts to increase change things around. you could add 1 to 2 meals a day if you feel you are over feeding with what you have now.

There really is no limit for calories if you are in an energy deficit. Never becomes much of an issue until after this point.

When muscle glycogen, liver glycogen are full, and maintenance has been met, then too many calories can well become an issue. You will have to be the judge of this.

Even then, every calorie is not used for either muscle or fat. The majority are eliminated. If every calorie was used, we would all be blimps.

well, i'll try this 3600 for 2 weeks, see if i add any fat and then redo everything from there...

This may be useful to you....

Glycogen storage capacity in man is approximately 15 g/kg body weight and can accommodate a gain of approximately 500 g before net lipid synthesis contributes to increasing body fat mass.

you have to work out the number backwards...

1. fiigure out how many cals per day you need
2. divide by 6
3. if the calorie number is higher than 800 (I read once this is borderline), simply add another meal and distribute the cals.

In a nutshell, if what I read is correct, one should not go over 800 cals/meal... which is WAY easy if you eat junk food (I think a Burger King Double thingy with cheese has 850 or so with 60 or so grs fat... Damn). Try eating 800 cals worth of chicken breast and healthy foods and you will see how much food that is.
