How do you build strength?

I've always did what I call a mixed workout. 4-6 reps heavy on the main movements(squat, bench, deads) and then 6-8 on the supplemental movements(dumbell press, shoulder presses, lat raises, etc.)
Some of my workouts worked better at different times. A workout I did 2 years ago worked great 2 years ago but now it does nothing. I think I'm extremely influenced by all the bodybuilding mags and stuff (If the cover has something interesting written on it I feel compeled to buy it.) Now I read Powermag, but I can't really find a documented workout in it.

I used to be able to make good workouts for myself, but years of all this nonsense (BB workouts) has totaly messed me up.

MY goal has always been strength first and the size will come with that eventually. I somehow lost sight of that.

For the last 4 years I have been hitting the gym 4-5 days a week. The last year I have been going to the gym maybe once a month. Just lost all motivation. I get up in the moring saying to myself that today I'm going to the gym, but somehow never make it there. All stupid excuses.

Now titan training has caught my attention. What do you guys think about that workout?

Can someone please take a few minuets and help me create a four day a week workout to build strength.
Last year when I was at my peak (following a the MAX-OT workout) my puny lifts were bench 325, squat 405, deadlifts 405.

I know I have a problem doing deadlifts correctly. I will try to focus on my foem instead of heavy weight. My bench press form is good. I learned it from a few powerlifters. Strangely after all those years of doing squats I only hit 405 once or twice. But when I hit the gym now I squat better than ever. Weird.

I want to create a great workout for myself but I'm confused. Should I just split the workouts into 4 days and go heavy all the time. Monday-bench, Wed.-deads, Fri-squat, Sat-arms,abs,dumbell workout. Or should I just do Mon + Wed heavy bench, deads, squats (split somehow) and Fri+Sat light bench, deads, squat.

I know what exercised I should use on the three heavy lifts, but I don't really know what othe exercises to add to the mix nad for light days.
I can't hit the gym Tue or Thursday.
Am I way off here? Can someone give me some pointers? I want to be strong. Really strong. I know I can do it.

nope :( i hardly get out of miami. lol i would love to go to one. i just never know when or where to see one.

u just moved right? what part of FL were u in?

I was in Lakeland And there was a guy who used to come and watch from Miami. He did compete once i think. I asked cause you sound like your really interested in powerlifting, and this guy was too. As far as Fl meets to watch. You might have to drive. But hell i do now too. But if you go to www.apa-wpa.com they have up coming meets And there based in Fl. That is were i have done most of my meets. Then www.hugeiron.com there in daytona. He has a few a year also drugg free and open. Check em uout.

You looking for a powerlifting routine? If so here is mine.

Mon flat bench reps of 3 to 5
tri accessory, shoulders.

Tues deadlifts and lat work. Biceps and recently added forearms.

wed off

thurs tris. Board or floor presses. then some other tri movement
followed by some light delt work

fri squats reps 3 to 5, then lat work and bi and forearm.

That is my routine it works for me. I didnt go into detail too much as far as reps but for tri work i use westside movement. Lat work is in the 6 to 10 rep range. Any questions i will add to it just kinda in hurry , but ask away.
