Higher reps giving me trouble?

I have been doing a 3x8 routine for the past 4 weeks after doing 5x5 and 5x3 variations for the past 18 months. Although I am enjoying the change, I having trouble with adjusting to the higher reps. For example before I started the 3x8, I was doing 365 for 5x3 on bench. This week I barely finished 300 for 3x8. Do you I just need time to adjust to higher reps since I have been doing low reps for so long, or is there some physical reason as to why this is harder for me?

Rus that is normal for me, I think there are both mental and physical adjustments going on. After a long run of low reps I think it took me 2 months to get really adjusted to doing 8s.

takes some time to physically adjust to it, if youve done 3x8 not too long before then it wont be too long. Dont worry about it...

Your body adapts to training. Give it a few weeks to adjust to the new rep scheme. I see this often with powerlifters just completing a competition and jumping back into training with sets of 10. Kinda comical. The first few reps are quite explosive, then you clearly see why they're not endurance athletes. :D

Hmm, I wonder if he's referring to me and my outstanding display of endurance. Ha! :D
