Hey B-Fold Question on Abs?

Ok I was doing my normal friday workout. Squats Military press etc. I did both of these without a problem. Squats 5x5 with 165 Press 2x10 with 75, but then I went to do some decline situps with a 45 plate as I've been doing for the past 2 weeks with no problem. I do my 1 set of 10 reps and on the last rep it felt like my abs were about to rip to pieces. I didn't bother to try the second set after this as I was in fear of ripping something. Is this a normal thing?

Any chance of you 'overtraining' your abs? Sometimes when I do not train them hard for a few weeks...and I start doing declines or something...they feel 'ripped' for a few days. Just do a set or two...get the job done and go home.

How do they feel the day after?

Was in in your abs that felt the ripping sensation or what it closer to the inside of your hip bone?

I had the same thing happen to me... to a T.. and I'm pretty sure it was another muscle that needed some strengthening and stretching... I think it might have been the hip flexors???
I also got a burning sensation occasionally from doing squats and deads in the exact same spot...

Hasnt happened since though.... Might want to learn some stretches for your hip flexors...

Make sure you are not going down too far at the bottom

Why is that? I go all the way down and as far up as I can...

Well my abs feel pretty good right now. I don't think I overtrain my abs. The only exercises I do that I think really hit them are barebell rows and squats a little in deadlifts and slightly in military press. It was kinda weird as my abs have always been pretty strong or at least I thought they were. I do squat pretty low, but I've never felt any abdominal pain before; this was like I had done 1000 sit-ups or something. No this was definitely not my hip flexors this was purely abdominal the entire muscle was screaming at me from top to bottom.

SOme of those decline benches are super short and if I go all the way back I am actually slightly hyperextended
