Herniated Disc Experiences/Stories?

I have a herniated disc and two bulging discs. L3 is the worst. I also have something called smores nodes (I think that’s the spelling).

The only major complaint I have is sciatica. It got so bad at one point that even moving a little would make me puke from pain. If you never had sciatica then you don’t know pain until you get this.

I have been pain free for about 4 months. Back exercises helped it. Then gear and doing a lot of back made it totally go away. I just started doing deadlifts again last week. I think it will do more good then bad even with the temporary spinal compression from dead lifting.

JUDO- the GH and lifting saved my life...it is very difficult to be a national competitor- athlete and then all of a sudden be disabled....the mind goes into orbit very quickly....this is what you need to know: IS the INTEGRITY of the SPINE or DISKS degraded??? is this a degenerative condition???? YOU NEED x-rays and an MRI of the areas in question...the drug question right now -I cannot answer....p.s. I was not competing in BB....BTW, Iam pain free after GH therapy.....

Damn Thanks again for the great posts!

This is really helping me out. I just want to be as informed as I can when I go to the Docs office and know what to say and what to expect and if I can say I know a bunch of people who lifted and it helped.. rather than get the rest/rest/rest approach which i know is not going to work..

I had gained a bunch of weight and it "seemed" to help but I lost most of it to get back down to a fighting weight.. but maybe i just need to start fighting at a higher weight to help the back/neck out.

Thanks again
