Help with my girlfriend's training.

Hope this is OK to be posting on here. My girlfriend has taken intrest in going to the gym since I started. I basically have no clue how to direct her training. She is 22yrs old 5'1 & 120pds. She has limited training history and is now going 4-5 days a week to the gym with me. Her main goals are to lower bodyfat and tone. Her biggest concern is the back of her legs & firming up the old glutes.LOL. Her diet has come a long way and is eating pretty clean. Can you ladies kindly give me some input as to what type of exercise would benifit her best. She is training clean now, although I have Clen/& T-Rex which we may start in the future.
How much cardio?
How much with weights?
And if possible a link to or if someone could take the time to list a typical weeks workout. I'm guessing her reps should be 12-15 for most lifting?

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP!! :)

You can train her just as you would train yourself - with modifications for her abilities.

I've always thought that a 3 days split was the easiest to start coupled with 3 sets/ 12 reps. During the course of the first few weeks of adjustments you can start to up some weight on the 2nd and 3rd sets.

Just as an example:

Day One
Back, Shoulders & Tris
or Chest & back

Day Two
Chest, Bis
or shoulders & arms

DayThree
Legs & Lower Back

Fit in abs twice a week

Cardio 3 days tops after weights.

Oh and it would be good to answer...

Squats, deads and lunges

Thanks for your help, she is starting to take intrest in EF so maybe soon you will have a new member.

Honestly the lifting splits I've done haven't really differed from those of most men-- the only difference is that I end up using less weight. Once I started doing less reps and lifting to failure I really started dropping fat.

As for clen/trex....I don't really see any reason to give her that sort of thing when she's just getting into things. Let her see what just a clean diet and training can do. If she really needs a boost after a while then clen/trex would be more appropriate.

I don't know of any particular links (I can look around) but I'd say follow what velvett said. If you want to choose specific exercises for various parts, how about you go into the gym and show your gf a handful of exercises for each muscle group-- she can probably find exercises she likes more than others.

Send her over! There's a wealth of info here and we're always happy have new members! Here's a website to give her some hints on exercises:

Second the wonderful ladies above. Send her here. :)

Definately NO CLEN. SHe needs to let diet and training do the work. Drugs are NOT the answer here.

Just for the record.

Personally - I've tried Clen and it was the most horrid week of my life - I've had better days with a migraine. The headaches are enough to make you insane and the results were less than desirable.. YMMV

T-Rex - I like T-Rex as a product, a lot actually. I had a lot of benefits that were not the norm of what one would be looking for in such a product. It worked for me as an energizer which was good for those deadlines and even better for those early morning cardio sessions. There are people that rave about its metabolic features and I have to say that it's something that one has to try and come to see their own results. All results will vary from person to person.

Now that I've said that I would not suggest either at this time.

These are things that you have to fall back on when your goals are near and getting a solid start with diet and proper training would be the current goal - so I would focus on that first.

Oh and form - form is more important the how much weight at first. Master the form and then you can learn how to cheat a little.

I agree, I bought a ton of clen and made it through a week and stopped taking it, I had no intensions of putting her on clen anytime in the near future and from your feedback I probably never will. You ladies have been more then helpful thank you all again.
