can some ppl here give me some tips on form on stiff legged deadlifts, the reason i ask is whenever i do them i do keep my knees slightly bent but locked whole time., but i feel it more in my lats from holding onto the wieght, lowering it and bringing it back up. i dont feel it much in my hams as mucha s i do in my lats, traps. thought when i keep my knees totally straight and locked i feel hams more but it isnt good on knees, what am i doing wrong.

OK, here is what I do to make it hit my hams reallly hard.

Keep the knees slightly bent but locked in position.

Lower the weight, but keep your back as straight as possible, don't round it at all. If you slump your shoulder it takes alot of stress off the hams.

Bend down FAR, and I mean FAR. Girls do this exercise the best, because they are so flexible. I do it on a raised platform and my hands almost touch my feet at the bottom of the lift. Your flexibility might not be so good to start out with, so stretch. For this exercise to work you need to be able to touch your toes.

So the trick is keeping the back straight, going down low, and keeping the knees locked but slightly bent.

i find that if i keep my weight on my heels (like im digging them into the floor) as opposed to the balls of my feet, i feel my hams quite a bit more!
