what do we think of grapefruit

its quite high in sugar, but i love the taste, and i read somewhere that it is a better alternative as a treat to things like apples and other sweeter fruits.

what do you think guys

cheers

Grapefruit is great because it has a low glycemic index rating which means that it has a slow effect on blood sugar levels.

the naringen in grapefruit amplifies the effects of caffiene

HAHA RANDOM SPART! BUT NICE TO KNOW. Also Caffine and carbs (sugar hint hint) do not boad well for each other, so if this makes the caffine more prodominant definately stay away from the extra sugar. Coke for that matter too, sugar and caffine is never a good combination. Per Nelson Montana "Caffnee on the physical

But what may be worst about caffeine is IT SPARES CARBOHYDRATES. So in a sense, caffeine is a terrible choice as a fat loss aid. (ZIP does not contain caffeine for that reason). And just to make things worse, coffee is a phyto-estrogen"

I HATE GRAPE FRUIT, ESPECIALY WITH OUT SUGAR. Whats wrong with Oranges or lemon with water. If you like the grape fruit it's better than a Twix bar for a treat so go nutz.

grapefruit will also boost viagra
and some other drugs
search for the "grapefruit effect"

I fukin love Grapefruit Juice, I have a freshly squeezed glass everyday in the morning, i found i really feel better all day when i have my daily Grapefruit Juice

I know of one BBer who swears by a small amount of grapefruit juice with coffee, a fat burner and BCAAs for morning cardio to burn fat, as carbs are the 'fuel' in which fat is burned.

Not all sugars are the same. Fructose, the sugar in fruit (which is often minimal) does not elicit an insulin response.

It's weird how some people swear by the strangest things but it does make sense.

Fructose also induces glycolysis, the central pathway in metabolism, more strongly than any other macronutrient/carb.

On empty, that may have more glycogen release.

The fructose is no worry, it's adding 3 table spoons of supre sugar to top it with the caffine, it would be great for energy yes but given the caffine spares sugar carb if you use the caffine for energy and never get to the sugar it will sit to fat. The insulin spike would be fine for the BCAA's but in combination with the fat burner I hope it's not a heave thermogenic with all that pure sugar, caffene, and the thermo I hear his heart beating from here!

:)
