OK, well i am a new memeber and I have recently started to correct my way of eating and training....at first, almost imidiatly i felt great, i had tons of energy and over all felt excellnt........recently though..a few weeks down the road....i get bloaded after eating .....big time....i dont know if its hte carbsm or the protein...or what i'm doing...but its driving me nuts..not to mention.....i have to be around people all day...and if i canstantly feel like i have gass...well that really sucks...

today i ate: fat free yogurt, 4 eggwhite w/tomato and fat free cheese, rise + strips of beef+salad: but i ate alot of that, apple, aplle sauce....and basically i am here now.....after the gym...and i felt like i had a gas bomb in my stomach.....what am i doing wrong?????

There are a few things that I figure is causing the gas.

1) - what is your daily water intake? If you're not consuming enough water (at least 2 L) then you're body cannot digest food properly plus you'll feel dehydrated.

2) - Fruit (apples) is a likely cause of the gas. A lot of people get that bloating feeling from fruit. When a carb is digested, gas may be produced in the large intestine. Everyone is different in their capacity to metabolize fructose (which is the main carb in fruit) and if you exceed your body's ability, the excess frutose remains in your large intestine where it ferments, making gas & causing you to feel bloated. Apples are a main gas-producing food. Apples and apple sauce is one day is a lot for you to digest, esp. if your body is sensitive to these foods/fruits.

3) - Aspartame: usually a main ingredient in fat free products may cause bloating.

4) - Spices/Sauces added to your food may be digesting properly.

I suggest that you try eliminating apples and the ff yogurt from your diet for a week or two to see if you feel differently. Also, you may need to switch to a yogurt that contains live and active cultures - look for those with the ingredients Lactobacillus acidophilus or Bifidus. Astro & Biotest are brands that I can think of off-hand (Astro French Vanilla is awesome). Oh - and don't forget WATER, WATER, WATER!!

A lot of people, when they first start increasing their protein intake, find they get a lot of gas. Also, if your diet has been made up of junk up till now, and you're changing it for healthier sources, well, first, any change would cause some digestive adjustments, and second, it's possible you're eating more fiber than you're used to, which would cause bloating.

I agree on the water issue, and I think I've seen peopleon the diet board recommend ginger root supps for gas (but you may want to double check that).

I think most bb's have some gas problems at various points - comes with the territory.
