Whats the benefits getting equal cals from macros?
Basically it's because eating low carbs and low cals inhibits the conversion of T4 to T3(active Thyroid hormone) in the liver. Thus lowering the metabolism. By eating an isocal diet, one can eat maintenance cals, bring up the metabolism, and keep insulin levels stable. This will prevent one from gaining fat during the two week reset period. I would also recommend that during the second week eat slightly above maintenance to increase metabolism.
