Ok...today was speed squats. I did my work sets with 365 + greens. Felt pretty fast. Setting up was the hardest part...after I walked it out and got set the reps were quick. Then I decided to try out my canvas suit.
I have had this canvas for almost a year, and never really given it a decent test. I hate squatting in the rack because it makes your stance narrow. Now that we have a platform that solves that problem it was time to take it for a test drive. The material is the REAL DEAL. I remember putting it on thinking...I may never get this thing back off.
Anyway...I worked up and hit an EASY 625...with loose knee wraps, walking the weight out, after speed squats, and running on no sleep. The weight literally flew up...I was surprised. I had 700 in me relatively easily. 625 is 50lbs over my meet PR...and I had plenty left in me. Now instead of worrying about hitting 7 in the meet I am kinda concerned about being too conservative and leaving something on the platform. Still too early to tell...but it was a good day.
My other concern is weight gain between now and the meet. I am around 270 right now....and will likely gain weight in the next month..then lose some water to make weight and carb back up. Don't know if an extra 10lbs will fit in the suit.
