F Barbell Bench Presses!!

Ive been having tremedous sucess with the 5x5 routine for a few months now. For chest I've always done:

5x5 Incline DB Press
3x10 Flat DB Press
2X12 Some kind of fly movent

For a change of pace I decided to do:

5x5 Barbell Bench
3x10 Incline DB
2x12 fly

I'm all done with barbell presses, I woke up the next day and althouhg my chest deffiantly got hit, it feels like I also had a shoulder workout. I'm supposed to lift my back/delts the next day, but because of how sore my shoulders are, I'm going to have to bump it to later in the week. I feel like I can direct DB's more towards my chest than I can with a barbell. Anyone else feel this way.

Good Work!

However, I would strongly recommend more incline work. Your chest will thank you in the long run. Incline presses are probably the best chest developer out there. You can still use flat presses, but never ever forget incline work.

I agree with Louden. A little more incline might do some good. Also, all 3 of those movements bomb the front delts, so it might be advisable to back off the front delt work for a while.

Dumbell work in my opinion is a better choice for overall chest developement than barbell. Anytime you involve dumbells the stabilizer muscles need to work that much harder. Also puts much less strain on your shoulders. I always do flat barbell and incline dbl.

I think I should do more inclines, my pecs are a good size but I find they are not big enough towards the upper part of the chest.
