ez curl vs straigh bar for biceps

The different hand positions in the ez bar and straight bar will make little difference, if any. I use whichever bar is more readily available.

As for close/wide grip, I've always found the wider/shoulder-width grip to be more effective than close grip.
 
I prefer straight bar at shoulder width, I feel any naroower makes it easy to help with you delts rotating your shoulders back to lift the weight. Ez curl never felt right for me so I avoid it

I agree. I always "feel it" more in my shoulders when I use close grip. It's easy enough to cheat on a regular wide grip, no point in making it easier by incorporating the delts.
