I was doing some EZ barl curls in my workout earlier and was thinking maybe I should switch it up. So I started googling and read some things and now I am unsure.
Is there a difference between wide/close grip on the EZ bar?
I read a few different things, that there is no difference, that wider grip works inner bicep more and closer grip works the outter bicep more, and that there is almost no noticeable difference between the two.
Does the straight bar add more mass?
I read that it works the outter and inner bicep evenly unlike the EZ bar curl, and read that the only difference is that it can cause more stress on the wrists.
I am cosidering switching over to the straight bar curl because of this. I am doing 10/8/6 on EZ bar curl starting 125/130/135. I have perfect form otherwise I would go down in weight. I am 165lbs my arms really aren't big at all and I am getting all this weight up, 16' arms. Maybe my routine is not for mass and more for strength or maybe a straight bar does add more mass. Strength is great and all but I would rather have size, if I can lift this with 16' arms then that means I need to go heavier in order to get bigger and I do not think I should be curling near my bodyweight in order to get bigger arms. I was thinking something like More strength = more weight = more mass but my strength is going up way faster than my mass and tips on that would be cool too.
