Just curious what would be good choice of stuff for building my leg stamina as well as strength for an endurance/fitness situation.
I run to keep the cardio in check but this is 13 miles and to be honest i have only 6 weeks to go from 6 mile max to double. YET i want to keep my overall strength. I'm good without gaining while im training for this but i was thinking more along the lines of wtf you hear people taking training for olympic trials. when they catch some russian on gear that was taking something for decathons they never say what in the world it was. anyways... ideas? thanks and yes this is a random topic.
 
The best way to build endurance for medium distance isnt with long, grueling and boring cardio its with high intensity interval work. Long distance low intensity cardio is counterproductive to muscle mass where as high intenticty interval training is not. Check out http://www.crossfitendurance.com/
 
Thanks zyg and i agree. I try and get one day of HIIT in a week at 20min. Typically i do stationary bike, treadmill or stairs but then when i set out on a long run i'm about equally spent after 6mi. some people have mentioned epo and eq on previous threads but i can't find any back up on the eq and epo sounds more like an event specific product.
 
EPO and reportedly EQ, as well as other AAS increase red blood cell count and in turn the amount of oxygen that can be transported to muscles to power movement. What it does NOT do is alter the bodies metabolic ability to make use of the oxygen/fuel. 1 day a week isnt going to cut it in terms of building your endurance which is a result of altering your bodies metabolic pathways and without that any supps are going to offer limited benefit at best.
 
i work up to 300 lbs x 300 reps 2x week in leg presses..

do not go past 90 degree.. I weigh 210...
