Does this happen to you?

I've noticed that after every dead/squat day I feel sick while going to bed. Just a bit nauseous and stressed out and unable to sleep, even though I'm tired. Have any of you ever had this or am I just weird? Maybe I'm overtraining =/ although I highly doubt it.

My split:

Wednesday

What are you eating pre and post workout, and what kind of a time frame from pre workout food to bed?

Pre workout meal (I was in school) so I pretty much had a chicken sandwich (30-60 minutes before)
Post just had a sub with a coke (Subway nearby)
At night I had steak & eggs

Preworkout meal at 2 --> workout 3-4 --> postworkout right after and now it's 3 am lol

Maybe you're not going into your workout with enough "fuel?" The nausea makes me wonder about your blood sugar.

Not sure. I've run into the sitch many times when a really intense workout gets me SO fired up and the testosterone/adrenaline rush just takes some time to wear off. I get pretty hyper after I train sometimes. Have you tried melatonin? It's over the counter here, and they have little 3mg molded tabs that dissolve under your tongue. Man, those hit me like a rock! Normally I'd just say work around it, but when you need slep to recover and have to be ready for school the next day, you have to get some rest.

Do you use any protein sups? Like a post workout shake with dex or something? Would be a good idea to have IMMEDIATELY after training, and before your meal.

Nah my parents don't like the idea of supplements, but I'm off to university next year anyway so I'll probably buy a 5 lb can of Whey protein. It's just impossible to get fast absorbing protein in regular food, I wonder if eating a regular meal would really take advantage of that 1 hour insulin sensitivity.

This insomnia happened recently (March - present) I've never had this before. March was when I started training, I had the flu for most of the month though so I couldn't really train consistantly. Now this happens once or twice a week now, usually minor (Squat/deadlift day, but more prone to deadlifts).

I felt pretty sick during the workout too. When I deadlift orsquat I feel pretty nauseous after, it usually goes away in a few minutes.

My grandfather had adult onset diabetes, so that's kind of giving me the creeps...of course I'm 17 now and I think I'm relatively healthy.

Melatonin, not sure if I can get them here. I can see it being highly effective though, but I don't know what effect it'll have on my circadian rhythm.

Unfortunately I have a test tomorrow lol. Oh well, I've stockpiled plenty of marks in the beginning of the year.

sounds like over-reaching - prelude to overtraining - effects to me.

anytime you have trouble sleeping ebcuase of training it means it's time to back off

I get adrenaline rushes before I walk in the gym, my whole body feels nervousish (is that a word?) lol

I get a weak stomach and shaky hands after my workout, I feel light headed too, lasts about 15-20 minutes afterwards, so id say its all about an individuals response to, could I say ... psyching up.

Try drinking a coffee before a workout if you get like that heheh, weeee
