im really addicted to black tea with bit of milk, i either drink 6 cups of that or 6 cups coffee pretty much everyday, but i feel like its hindering my gains on or off cycle, it makes me feel dry and less volumizes etc.. can anyone chime in on this?

peace

It does increase yur metabolism, especially the black tea, so just eat a bit more with every meal. I wouldn't worry about it too much though. The flat look/feel you're getting is because caffeine is a diuretic and your muscle is mostly water. It's similar to the feel of glycogen depletion on a low carb diet or on t3. Not everybody is that sensitive though

The one "real" gym i went where guys were moving substantial amounts of weight had a coffee pot out front 24/7. You'd see mostly older (vets) walking around sipping on it. Younger guys always had some premixed drink in a water bottle......

No.

If you are drinking that much, it loses it's diuretic effects.

Most scientific studies cite that coffee actually enhances performance, mentally and physically, and it may help prevent DOMs.

In the short term, sure, it has benefits like any stimulant. But I doubt you'll find any studies showing long term benefits to daily consumption, in fact my guess would be that they'd show the exact opposite.....

Edit for Goku - DOMS = delayed onset muscle soreness

I usually drink green tea during the day but I will have black coffee if I'm really tired. I like these because they both are zero calories as long as you are not adding sugar/cream/milk etc etc
