Does anyone know what the best fat burning cardio w.o is?

I think fat burning and callorie burning are 2 different things. If you do 160beats per min like someone mentioned you may be burning fat NOT as efficiently as if you were to do less intensity. I could be wrong I`m new to this whole fatloss thing.

Not necessarily, if you are eating a total of 1200 calories per day, (easy if you divide up 8 small meals) and you burn 750 of those just running, you're already on a good calorie deficiancy, and as a result (if you have the muscle) you'll lose plenty of fat over a period of time. Thats why I don't understand the need for being in a "fat burning" zone on cardio for 40 mins when you can burn plenty of calories lifting weights as well (as far as I know) and at the same time retain any muscle that might be lost on that diet. Maybe I'm wrong if so let me know and I'll change up my routine while I cut. But regardless cardio is great for the heart, and it builds over all energy, stamina and endurance.

You will also lose muscle that way. but if you lower intensity The body burns more fat than muscle. Check the diet board, alot of VERY knowledgeable people there. btw 1200 cals is WAY too little.

you are indicating that your effective total caloric intake is 450?? i don't think any amount of lifiting is going to preserve muscle at such a low intake...

I get the analogy...but most of uis weigh more than 120(120 x 10 cals per pound) = 1200 per day.

you WILL LOSE muscle on a overall caloric intake of 450 per day.

I prefer interval training, which I usually do on the treadmill, elliptical, or rowing machine. I like it because it's quick (20-30 min max), never boring (because you're always changing speed, incline, interval length, or whatever), but mainly because IT WORKS.

Here are some links to some excellent articles by Clarence Bass, who definitely knows a thing or two about fatloss. I'll bet he's probably the most consistently leanest person alive!
