Do I have an infection ?!?!?!?!?!?!?

You're still describing a ruptured vein not an infection. An infection will not hurt like that in 48 hours, a rupture will. You can't even touch the swelling without intense pain from a ruptured vein and the fact that there was no abcess pretty much confirms it because if it was infected and spread from a needle point to 3 inches there would be plenty of fluid to take out. It will be gone in a couple days and unless you are unlucky enough to do it twice you shouldn't have any more problems. Your gear is loaded, in fact over-loaded if it's UG gear, with alcohol so there won't be any bacteria in it. But go ahead and stick a pin in it to vent, and cook it 20 minutes at 250.

Interesting.. I just took a very close look at the brand new fina vial I used 2 days ago to withdraw and possibly got the infection from. It seems there is a very very small red particle floating inside. I mean very very small, I just have extremely good eyesight (people always call me when they drop small stuff on the floor). Anyway it's there floating, it's half the size of a small air bubble, really hard to notice. No one could notice it if you don't really stare at it. Funny this is the second vial from a completely different UG lab that I find a particle inside. I guess just all UG labs are the same, being made in someone's tub. Do you think heat at 200'F (93'C) for one hour will sterilize a vial even if it has a small particle inside?
I wish there was a pharma grade tren. nothing beats schering and organon i guess.

In response to Question Number 2:

Augmentin (Amoxicillin-Clavulanate) is an antibiotic similar to penicillin. It is well tolerated in almost all cases, and shouldn't have any effect on your workouts.

Did the doctor confirm that it was definitely an infection or did he give you the antibiotics in case? I've had this happen before as well and went to the ER for it. Mine wasn't an infection but it got REALLY swollen, really red and very very painful. The swelling kept spreading from my shoulder (where I injected) down to just past my elbow, as did the redness. There was a good 1-1.5" in radius of swelling. It was fucking gross. It was a reaction to something in the shit, probably the BA content. It took about ten days to go away.

Very interesting Nathan thanks for asking. The doc just inserted a needle and tried to pull and see if it's absess in there, he said if it's absess, he'll have to cut the butt and get it all out, if it doesn't it's probably just inflammation and then just anti-biotics might help after about 5 days.

He didn't make other tests. But your case sounds very similar to mine. Very swolllen glute, really red and the redness spread to and cover almost all the right glute, not just the spot where i injected, basically the whole right glute. Very painful. What did you tell in the ER? What did your doc do? I mean, the symptomps as I've read over the web and as well as the doc said, are quite in line with absess. Some bodybuilder who left their absess untreated for just 4 days got quite a large part of his muscle removed eventually (gross and painful), so I didn't want to make any chances, read to many horror posts on elite archives.

You did the right thing, I think, which is why I went to the ER in my case as well. Better safe than sorry. I told the guy the truth. I wanted the help I needed, first and foremost. I was prescribed antibiotics and anti-inflammatories as well, just in case. There is a subtle difference, really. Infections go a very deep color of red, and they are painful to the TOUCH. Like if something lightly touched the area, it would kill, just like if somebody touched a fresh, serious wound I think. It was scary though. Just take the antibiotics and you'll be covered either way. Are you allergic to bee stings, out of curiosity?

Thanks genarr VERY SOUND advice!
I just talked on the phone with a neurologist who's a friend of a friend, he is not familiar with the issues of abcess but he did help me out on what to do. He said I should head straight to the ER and tell them I got stuck with something, just like you said. I think since it's in the glute I'd tell them I was sitting on a bench that and something poked me. I don't believe they'll buy the story, especially that i am somewhat muscular and shaved, and a 23g makes a little hole, makes nonesense but anyway, not to play with health I guess. damn I HATE hospitals.

Bro, Cipro is NOT cortisone. Cipro is ciprofloxacin and it is a good antibiotic for staph infections. Other good oral choices would be Keflex or Bactrim if you are allergic to sulfa. If you were my patient I would want to see it and I'd probably give you a shot of Ancef and then a good 10 day course of Keflex and watch it CLOSELY.
