Dirty~D~'s journey to recovery - first 90 days

FOOK! Had to cut legs short tonight... split my friggin pants doing deep squats. Well, not completely split, but enough to make me cautious while lifting. Good thing I decided to wear panties. I finished my squats, lunges and hack squats. I'll save deads for Thursday night. Legs are swole... still killed that shit. :evil:

Um I don't wear a skirt and just for this post I may not take my camera to the gym tonight for deadlifts.

I was hesitant to post this, but I figured my losses could be someone else's gains:

There will be no competition in my future, which I'm really ok with. The one doubt I have that haunts is whether or not my hip will hold up to the abuse of powerlifting in general. :( Some injuries never fully heal, no matter what you do. I will continue to lift within the current limits of my hip. I have an X-ray, MRI and bonescan scheduled with the VA later this year to assess the extent of the scar tissue and potential damage to the femur. Young pride isn't always a positive... it sucks having to learn it later in life, when it's a little too late.

My advice to anyone who lives the life of fitness: know your body's limits and acknowledge them when they speak to you. Ignoring some can have severe consequences later in life.
 
My back workout last night went awesome! I was able to increase the weight on all lifts and still maintain the same number of reps. Mmmm, tight today... KILLED THAT SHIT! :evil:

*Sharp pain in the hip is more noticeable today, too. :worried:
