Hey guys. those who know me outta know that usually I know my stuff. 3 years and back I could just about eat anything I wanted. example, I used to eat lasagna hamburger helper for breakfast pre workout back then and kill the weights. For the past three years I have not even grabbed a dumbbell, literally. I was around 270 at 17%bf at best back then. But know with a seperation and other issues including health problems I'm around 265 and maybe 25%bf.
I have always hated dieting but nows gonna have to be different. I'm in the worst shape of my life and I'm not too proud to let ya'll know this.
I worked for Ray Mentzer back in 88 and can remember he was at 280 during his return from australia and what he went through tryin to get back. Throw everything you can up with as far as meals/diets. I'll take all u got!

Heres my take on it,
First you need your diet dialed in,Eat 6-7 small servings instead of 3 larger ones,You need one gram of protein for every pound of bodyweight.Protein sources should come from a variety of foods,... (Milk,Cottage cheese,Eggs,Steak,Turkey ,Chicken)

You last meal should be your lightest.
You can speed this diet up by doing morning cardio on an empty stomach, the body will burn fat for fuel since there is no food in your stomach, afterwards have a hi protein shake,

Another good thing to add

Add to this .... a drastic reduction in sugars and foods that transform to sugars except for veggies. IME this includes sugar and all forms of it, fruit, and all bread and flour products. Chow on proteins, veggies and non-caf drinks and water.

You'll release a lot of stored water and burn fat.

Purists take this to an extreme, but I found that after 6 weeks I could take in a small amount of berries and whole grain without a problem. And it broke the boredom.

I'm having to be careful not to take in anything high in "K" due to my blood clot meds. This makes things just a lil more difficult.

Here's some helpful tips :)

One Eat five to six smaller meals every day. You should eat at least every three hours. The higher frequency of eating will help stoke your metabolism.

Two Eat lean protein with every meal. Protein not only builds muscle, but it burns fat. Protein has a high thermic effect within your body causing you to burn calories just by digestion.

Three Eat only low GI complex carbohydrates. Sweet potatoes, old fashioned rolled oats, and brown rice are my favorites. Stay away from whites. Sugar, flour, white rice, etc.

Four Eat green veggies with every meal!!! Fiber is your friend. Green veggies help to keep you full and satisfied and help push all that protein through your body. Also a lot of green veggies (cabbage, broccoli, asparagus, celery, lettuce, spinach) can be considered "negative calorie" foods. Your body will burn more calories digesting them than they actually provide.

Five Do not drink any calorie containing beverages. No beer, liquor, soda, fruit juice, or sports drinks. Only drink water, green tea, unsweetened diet sodas (really not too good), and if you drink coffee have it black. The exception to this would of course be protein shakes and a post workout shake.

I hope these tips set you in the right direction. If you need anything else don't hesitate to post or send me a PM.
