Diet for a hard gainer - advice needed please!!

Surelya limited amount is good for general health??

of course it is but you said you wanted to gain weight so we are trying to help you do that as you have asked us to. cardio is good for cardiovascular health. eating mcdonalds 2 times per wk is bad for your cardiovascular health. so what do you want to do gain weight or be healthy.
 
Surely cardio is good for general health? Before I started doing it I got out of breath running up the stairs!

If your at the Bf you say you SHOULD not run out of breath running up stairs......Check your RHT if you run out of breath just running up stairs you may have more issues then gaining weight IMO.
 
How much calories are you consuming?
I'd cut the cardio and increase your calories with whole clean foods. Nothing like BIG lean muscles..
 
Cut the cardio and increase carbs. I am the same way and recently found the only thing that works is carbs, carbs, carbs. You have a high metabo. so you burn your energy alot faster so you need to overload on carbs so you have extra energy not being used and stored as fat. I tried eating mcdonalds for all the extra cals but honestly i am finding that whole foods like bread, rice, pasta are giving much better results then 2-3k cals a meal with fast food.
