Cutting/Diet Experiment - Log

I' ve always been very intrigued by diet and numbers so I'll definitely be following along here because this is off the wall man haha
I definitely want to see what happens here...
Best of luck.

Day Two:

Today hasn't been as easy as yesterday, by not being allowed to eat food you realise how much you take it for granted. It isn't unbearable and you can compensate for it by drinking water but it's not pleasant. Stomach pains are bad but they do get suppressed with water.

I had blood work done today but don't get results until Tuesday. My bodyfat has already gone down by 1%, which is pretty impressive considering it's only two days in. Was weighed at 7pm and I've dropped a total of 6lbs.

I did some work in the gym today and instead of 4 sets I could barely manage 3, so nutrition is obviously a huge part of performance, not exactly a surprise but it felt strange being considerably weaker. There is probably no point in even working out as I'm not getting any protein to repair it so I won't be doing too much this week.

Not very interesting but maybe I'll pass out or something tomorrow and have something interesting to tell you!

Haha yeah that's rough, I was shocked to read you worked out, I didn't think that was part of the protocol, but like I said I've read hunger pains subside about the third day so at least you have that to look forward to.

The study is done using people of different age, gender, somatotype etc... She wanted me in the 'heavy set athlete' group, which basically means I have above average muscle mass and fat (which I spent a few weeks piling on, best month ever!). She wants me to exercise as much as I can so it's similar to a normal week, the only thing that's getting altered is the diet.

It's the same for every group; there's a woman in her 30's who is 22 stone taking part in the same study, (she's getting monitored pretty much every other hour to make sure she's coping alright) but her daily routine is sitting on her couch and watching TV all day. So that's what she's doing. The only variable that gets changed is diet, everything else is supposed to stay as close to 'normal' as possible. Oh and that woman has already lost 9lbs in two days, it's unbelievable. I doubt she's going to finish though as she's finding it really tough. Safety first!
