Console war settled

BTW Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is a HIGHLY underrated game. I played through it and its at the very least on par with MW 2.

I dont know about the MP yet though.

I think it depends on what features and games you like most. I wanted to try B:BC2 but hearing that it's only slightly better than MW2 sunk my hopes lol.

The thing I like about PS3's lineup compared to Xbox 360 is that, in addition to whatever original titles are multiplat, Sony has a whole slew of in-house/2nd party developers that seem to continuously be trying to do something new besides just banking on the "sure bet", which is still shooters these days, and often alien-based. While PS3 does have the games for the popular genres like 1st/3rd person shooters, games like Infamous, Little Big Planet, Heavy Rain, Demon's Souls, Flower, Mod Nation Racers, yet to be released The Last Guardian, etc. all stand on their own regardless of whose cup of tea they are.

The first real gameplay trailer of Infamous 2 was released this weekend-

Hansel, the PS3 sucks bro....sorry but it does. If that bitch had debuted at $299 instead of..what...$599? I mean fuck that thing is retarded. I almost considered getting one for the blu ray but better blu ray players out and cheaper. The 360 ain't much better hence why I don't have one. Both those companies have shitballed the video game industry. It used to be video games were something you and your boys could all get together and do.....like a Halo lan party. That was some of the funnest shit I've done in my life. But you can see that slowly they're strongarming everyone to play multiplayer online by limiting how many people can play on one console. 8-12 player Halo lan wars on 2-3 50+ inch screens was gaming mecca....I shall likely not see that again in my lifetime.

nothing makes you feel more like a video game loser than when you're huddled alone infront of your tv talking to your teammates over a mic....I refuse it. Multiplayer was meant to berate your recently downed opponent in person as he would be sitting within a couple feet of you. That's fucking videogaming, in person shittalking after plasma sword kill or a sticky grenade to the face. Everything else......bah!! I know I sound like some crotchety old geeez...."in my day". :lmao:

The PS3 fucked up with 2 major things, both from being an arrogant company and not listening to their customers.

The $599 price was just fucking stupid.

They... like always want a Proprietary system which is extremely hard to develop for when they should have just gone with hardware developers are familiar with.

And redsamurai...I'm pretty sure you can still play MP in a lan setting, haven't tried it though.

But that's a preference though....online with peeps each playing at their own houses is better for many because of time constrictions. I don't have time to have lan parties, I work full time am married with a 7 month old. So being able to just pop in a game and play against buddies that live here or out of state is a good way to keep in touch also.

you're the same guy who says Madden has been terrible for 10 years and that GoW 3 is a shitty game (without even playing it).

your opinion = worthless

Meh, you're entitled to your opinion. LAN parties are still possible with current systems as long as everybody has the equipment. I myself miss the arcade days from the mid 90's the most, and 4-screen Goldeneye death matches.

But to say games suck these days must mean you're not much of a gamer anymore, because there is no shortage of games out now that are at the very least evolutionary of the older classics. The only thing the old stuff has on a lot of games these days is "being done first".

You have to understand how much work goes into making games now too. Coupled with the fact that finding new, original ideas is tougher than ever, but some things were played out even in the "good 'ol days". Another things is kids/adolescents will usually play anything at that age, and aren't exactly the best judges of quality. I remember playing some of the dumbest shit just because it was the only thing new that week and I had time/money to burn on summer vacation lol.

Bottom line is I think the nostalgia factor is clouding your judgement big time.

Don't be mad at Red man. He's really a Sega fanboy who's pissed they got trampled on by Nintendo, Sony, and to some extent Microsoft. Not nearly as much due to "strong arming" as the simple fact that the only high quality IP they ever released was Virtua Fighter, and maybe a couple sports games lol. I did like the Road Rash series on Genesis though. Probably the only thing I wished was on SNES at the time.

In the last two weeks, I have finished Airborne, MW2, MW1 (since I enjoyed the 2 so much)... what is next for FPS types?

I see there is a MW Black Ops coming out soon.. but no way I am going to pay that much for something I that I finished part 1 and part 2 in only two nights of playing each. Short ass game.
