Combat Conditioning

"Combat Conditioning"

A video by Matt Furey

Anybody ever see it? My Co-Worker was a competitive fighter. He advised me to try and train this way as it adheres more to the workout. Basically, use this w/out over weight training.
I will try this workout as a cutting shceme eventually bc it definitely is ultimate conditioning.

Any responses welcome. :)

quick overview as to what it advocated

is it lots of calesthenic/bodyweight stuff mixed in with cardio and endurance training?

Matt Furey is a legit fighter.

From what I understand, that's all they are. Good for fighting-prep in addition to everything else you do while training. But these alone, no. If you were going to check it out, just use it as ancillary training, and try not to let it get in the way of your real lifting.

Thanx Thaibox!
I have the workouts and I will do the hindu squats tonight, along with the other exercises that I do not know the name of.
I can do cardio 3/4 times a week b4 I go into catabolism. Think 3/4 times a week is good enough? He says every day, no weights. He is a little monster btw.
The workout looks real easy until you do it yourself. The squats are tough as hell. So are the push ups and the bridges.

Danielson,

Conditioning with bodyweight, based on Hindu teachings. 2 day split, upper body, lower body. For example;
One intense exercise followed by a 10-15 second rest, followed by the next exercise for as long as you can go for. You follow?

My theory on this is;
I have heard good things about Matt Fuery. The person who introduced me to the workouts is a great fighter and smart man. Hell, Thaibox said Matt Fuery knew his shit. Thaibox knows his shit. I know you didn't ask me for a theory but I wanted to make sure you understood exactly where I was coming from. Maybe you could check it out sometime too. :)

Polish Hammer,

They're not based on Hindu teachings. That is just what Matt calls them as they (supposedly) came from India. If you are truely interested go to www.mattfurey.com and get the Combat Conditioning book before he sells them all. There is a lot more in the book than on the videos. The videos btw, are actually a 3 video set.

If you read the Bhagavad-Gita, the victorious side of the conflict did hindu-squats prior to battle based upon Vishnu's divine training.
