I am 20 years old and have not played football since highschool in '99. I could of played DII ball but had shitty grades so I stayed home and went to a junior college. I have one more year left at junior college and then I am going to transfer to a four year school. I have done several cycles since high school and have gotten much stronger, bigger and faster than I was 2 years ago. I am thinking about walking on to wherever I go and giving it another shot. I will be 21 when I transfer so my question is, how do you guys feel about older guys trying out for the team?? Do you feel like they have an advantage because of age?? Please give me some advice and some feedback on how you feel about this. Thanks alot guys.

The guys on the team shouldn't see your age as a threat. I don't think that you should think of your age, as a number, as being an advantage or disadvantage. You should think that your maturity, as well as superior physicality is an advantage. When I was in school, several guys had gone into the military right out of high school, so they were 22 and 23 years old as Freshman. That was probably a little more uncomfortable for them to be in a class w/ 18 and 19 year olds, but not on the field. All that I can suggest is make sure that you really want to get back on the field. All athletes know that it is one thing to be in .Elite Physical Shape , and another to be in Playing shape. Anyways, good luck w/ whatever you decide.

Hey age is not a problem, I play at a pac 10 school we have had guys up to the afe of 25, everyone has their reasons. If its something you want to do u have to go for it no regrets. As far as shape they get u into physical shape during camp. gl

AGE

Go for it bro! Captain Wenike, I mean Chris from Florida State won the hiesman trophy at 27 years old. Do you think he regrets it. Even though FSU sucks BOOMER SOONER!

I played semi-pro ball at 31 and had a blast. That's what it's all about. Go have fun and compete, age is just a number.

Hey Bro drop me a line and I'll see what I can do for you!! I have alot of connections in northeast colleges I may be able to help you find a good team to play for. If your serious about this drop me a line!!!

So does your JC have a football team? If so, go out there and play..... and if not, find yourself a Semi-Pro team to play on for this year, then transfer and play Collegiate ball.

I play Semi-Pro ball now, and there are several younger guys like yourself playing until they want to go to college. Playing for most teams will not affect your eligability with the NCAA.

If you're interested in Semi-Pro ball, I can give you some links to find a team in your area.
